CAMPING EQUIPMENT:

TENT- Obviously.
SLEEPING BAG- a fiberfill type bag is best because it stays warm even if it gets wet. The bag should at least be rated down to 30 degrees.
DAY PACK- bring a good size day pack (1800-2100 cubic inch volume) that will hold items.
WATER BOTTLE- 1 liter with a wide mouth is best.
INSECT REPELLENT- occasionally you may want repellent, "Deet" products work well.
GARBAGE BAGS- Bring five or six, useful for carrying dirty laundry or wet items. Zip Locks, to carry books, maps, money and I.D.
FLASHLIGHT/LANTERN- No less than 4 D cell and preferabally waterproof.
COMPASS- In case you get lost.
CAMERA- Photographic evidence.
CAMCORDER- Video evidence.
BINOCULARS- Night vision binoculars are the preference.
AUDIO RECORDING DEVICE- Audio Evidence.
CASTING MATERIAL- In case you find footprints.



OPTIONAL

GUN- Protection or hunting.
KNIFE- Various uses.

CLOTHING (not all is mandatory, weather determines)

LONG UNDERWEAR- 2 pairs of light or mid weight polypropylene or other synthetic blend.
PANTS-, 1- 2 fleece, synthetic or light weight wool pants.
COTTON PANTS/SHORTS- 1 pair, for the good weather days if you wish.
SHIRTS- 2 Wool blend or polypro long-sleeved. Short sleeved cotton T-shirt if you wish.
SWEATERS/PULLOVERS- 1 heavy and 1 light, fleece or wool.
WOOL SOCKS-, 4 to 8 pair, a combination of polypro, wool or fleece.
HATS- a fleece/wool hat that covers your ears, or has ear flaps, and a baseball cap or visor for sun protection.
NECK GAITER-, or scarf is recommended.
GLOVES- Wool or fleece gloves with heavy duty RUBBER GLOVES over top to waterproof your hands.
HIKING BOOTS- Comfortable, broken in boots with good tread.
WINDBREAKER- A Gortex or nylon jacket is good to have for wind and works in light rains, but NOT as your primary rain gear.
