This is a tribute to all the moms (and dads) like myself who LOVE to change diapers! (That's a joke!!) We use Luvs. Always have...always will. We've tried the premium diapers...or others on sale, but we always come back to these and will continue to use them until the last one is disposed of...
Diaper Duty
10 diapers a day (an average...it's more for a newborn, less for an older child.)
x365 days in a year
=3650 diapers a year
x2.5 years in diapers (an average...again, some are earlier, some are later)
=9125 diapers per child per year
x3 children in our house
=27,375 diapers we will use before the last is potty trained.

Sound a little scary? Please read on...

Does this make cents?
27,375 diapers...divided by
32 diapers in a package
=855 packages of diapers
x $12.00 approximate cost of 32ct. package
=$10,260.00 amount spent on diapers from birth to 2 1/2 years old for three kids! YIKES!!! Thats JUST diapers (...wipes not included).

Just Look At The Size Of It!
If you neatly roll up a diaper when you're finished with it, it's about 4 1/2 inches long...
4.5 in. length of a diaper neatly rolled
x 27,375 amount of diapers used
=1,231,875 inches
If all of those diapers were lined up end to end in a row they would span
19.44 miles!!!

The BOTTOM Line
On an average, a WET diaper weighs about 1/2 pound.
1/2lb. approximate weight of a wet diaper
x 27,375 amount of wet diapers discarded
=13,687lbs. weight of wet diapers
If all of those diapers were saved and piled up they would weigh 6.84 tons !! (and I'm just counting WET diapers...I didn't want to weigh any others!)

So the first of the tips for the weekend comes from Lisa Julian at childfun."...Toilet training should be a fun and exciting experience."
I bet this is fun and exciting!! With a name like sinkems how could it not be?!!!
Nuke a bag of popcorn and grab a juicebox... Set up a tv and vcr in your bathroom and watch "It's Potty Time". (I hope you got the good seat!)
If you have an extra $8.95 (plus shipping I'm sure) you could also invest in a Lee-Bee Potty Chart. Sounds like fun doesn't it? It's sure fun to say...
Finally, my personal favorite...Who wouldn't love a musical potty featuring the "Toonzettes" and Old MacDonald Had a Farm? For only $14.95 (and $3.95 when you need a "replacement sensor") you can enjoy A Magical, Musical Land of Potty Training !!
...I'll save my money AND my popcorn. The method we used worked just fine. When they're ready they'll go...and if you're lucky it'll be on a weekend camping trip when they can go whenever and where ever they want. (If you have boys that is.)
