Commodore software releases in the United States and Canada were numbered as to which computers they would work with. There are four basic groups:

Group One: Programs that work on the C16 and Plus/4:

I realize that there are a few titles missing. Once I have official Commodore numbers for these titles I will add them to this list.

The numbering breaks down as follows:

T - TED system compatiable

C, 1, or 2 - 1 indicates cassette compatiable, 2 indicates disk drive required. C indicates that this title will work on a C64 also.

1, 3, or 6 - memory requirement 16k, 32k, 64k (not used on TC series)

2, 3, 5, or 6 - program type, 2 is productivity, 3 is educational, 5 is graphical, 6 is games

xxx - last (two or) three digits indicate sequence of introduction.

Gaps in the sequences may indicate titles were planned but not released (such as T266xxx Infocom titles). By my count of this list, at least 17 titles were released for the C16 plus another 30 for the Plus/4, giving at least 47 titles actually released around the time of the Plus/4 and C16's introduction to the marketplace.
