The monastery-like structure of the Cape Bojeador Lighthouse was built out of local bricks and fine sand, lime, water, molasses and a sticky juice from a local tree called "sablot." We met the current lighthouse-dweller, Manong Ben Labuguen, who has been guarding the lighthouse for 5 years. A former navy, this is his 8th lighthouse all over the country.
