Chibot Ultra Battle "Sailor Moon vs Akira! ...What?!" Player Setup ![]() First of all, the fact that you're here at all means you probably want to play Chibot Ultra Battle. Yes, it's a seriously cool chat-based game. The problem for most of you will be the fact that it was created for AOL 3.0 and 4.0. Even if you DO have AOL 3.0 or 4.0, you still won't be able to play because of the things that have changed since that time. There are two ways you can play the game:
The first option is the easiest and requires no setup at all if you already have AIM set up on your computer. The second method is much more versatile, but requires a very short setup proceedure. --How to play Chibot Ultra Battle via AIM All you need to do is:
--How to play Chibot Ultra Battle via AOL This is a bit more complex, but still extremely simple:
If for some reason you get an error message when you try to start the SendChatFixer.exe, it's most likely because of a missing file needed to use it. If this is the case, write down the filename stated in the error message. Then go to Google and do a search on the exact filename. From the first few hits in the search, you're guaranteed to find a copy of the file that you can download for free. Once you've gotten the file, simply make sure it's in the same folder as the ChatFix program and attempt to start it up again. --How to Play the Game In truth, this is a ridiculously easy game to play. The flow of battle is much like the Active Time Battle system from the Final Fantasy series. As soon as the battle begins, you may use any of the actions available to your character. Upon entering the action command, your character will begin the action. After a set amount of time as passed, you will then execute the selected action and your turn will come up again. For specific instructions, READ THIS!!! --About Runes and Weapons Runes are special enhancers for your character. You may select just ONE from the list (ask the host to scroll the list if you need to). Runes add nifty little effects such as permanent Haste, power boosts, status protection, free counters, ect. To select a rune, simply say its selection string (i.e. "/super"). For help on a rune, say "help-rune" or "info-rune" (where "rune" refers to the rune's name). Weapons are, essentially, items that give your character extra moves. If you need to, ask the host to scroll the available weapons. You may select ONE before the battle begins by saying its selection string. During the battle, weapons will sometimes appear and may be picked up by anyone not already holding a weapon. To pick up a weapon, say "/wget-weapon" (where "weapon" refers to the weapon's name). To drop a weapon, say "/wdrop". For help on a weapon, say "/help-weapon" or "/info-weapon". --Special Notes Be aware that, even though Chibot Ultra Battle is still playable in the new chat rooms, there is still that nasty scrolling limit. Because of this, the person hosting the game will usually limit the number of players to no more than 4 per game. However, there is no scroll limit if the host has an overhead AOL account (this is not likely to happen). To cut down on scrolling, players should try not to use commands such as "/moves", "/status", and "/help" during battle. Commands like these cause a great amount of unneccessary scrolling. A bit of common sense is all it takes to have a good time (and keep the host from being booted, ROFL). |
