When I was a mere babe, back in the 50's, I would always look
forward to Halloween with GREAT EXPECTATIONS. It was always such a big deal
for me. The great attraction was ALL THAT CANDY!!! LOL.
Plus I loved dressing up in my "store bought costume".

Last,
but not least is the matter of safety. I think it is so sad that our
children, today, have to be told NOT to eat their candy till they get home
and mom and dad go through it. We never had to think about such
things....what made it so much fun was the eating on the way and the trading
with your friends.
If you are taking your little ones door to door trick-or-treating, you
AND your child/children should play this game. This game/quiz was developed
using information provided by law and safety enforcement agencies.
Additional information was provided by children's hospitals and other
resources.
(Halloween Safety Game)
Remind children not to eat any of their treats until an adult has
carefully examined all candy for signs of tampering, including small
pinholes in wrappers and torn or loose packages.
Parents of young children should get rid of choking hazards such as gum,
peanuts, hard candies, or small toys.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER allow a child to go out alone...make sure a
responsible adult accompanies him/her.
Always make sure the child is carrying a flash light.
Stay within the neighborhood.
Children should walk -- not run -- on the sidewalks and at crosswalks. Do
not jaywalk. Do not run out from between parked cars.
Go only to homes where the residents are known and have lights on
outside.
Do not go inside people's homes unless accompanied by an adult.

Did you ever wonder where Halloween comes from? I have some links right below that have
story's/legend's you can tell your grandchildren, but please make sure they
are old enough to understand that ghosts, goblins and whatevers do not
exist.
Thank you so much TinaKay
