A little about me. I was born in the United Kingdom. I obtained a panel beating, spraying and welding apprenticeship in 1947. This was interrupted by a spell in the in the R.A.F. While in the air force and traveling globally, I studied Judo and eventually advanced to a level of First Dan.

I also was involved in motorbike and sidecar racing for several years. I would help to build the outfit and then I would be the passenger to my driver. One time, during the Brands Hatch Kent Races we wrecked the engine in practice and had to strip the whole bike down. We had to take the frame and engine home and repair two broken engine mountings, plus make a new oil tank refit and get one practice lap in before the race. We were lucky enough to come in second that meeting which gave us enough racing points to get our international license, allowing us to go to the Isle of Man and race. We were the first privateer outfit across the finish line after the BMW Works team. We received a Bronze metal for that and received another Bronze metal the year after.

in my VERY early days thats me in the passenger seat No, I am NOT falling off the bike

Royston Delion

While still in England I joined The Medieval Society. We put on daily shows involving jousting and swordplay of the middle-ages for the general public and royalty. Queen Elizabeth II presented our " Band of Merry Men " with the Silver Commemorative Medal during her Silver Jubilee Tour in 1978. During this time period I found that my welding experience soon had me designing and building full suits of armour, swords and helms, and equestrian armour. As the popularity of jousting grew, we traveled to France and Germany to challenge their Knights in combat. During these travels the people of France named me " Royston Delion " meaning " The Lion " .

yes, this was my 100/6 While I was still in the U.K. during the years of 1968 - 1981 I also owned, and partially restored, a 1957 Austin Healey 100/6. I just had to fit a new clutch and repair some minor body damage, but it was then that I decided that, when I had the time, I would restore a Healey from scratch.

I moved with my family to Australia in 1982. I am currently a proud member of the " Austin Healey Owners Club of Victoria " . I must say that restoring this Healey 3000 MarkI has been one of the hardest jobs I have ever tackled.
