| Season 1 -- Peter Forsberg
(COL) Season 2 -- Temmu Selanne (ANA) |
The Art Ross Trophy was presented to the league
in 1947 by Arthur Howie Ross, former coach and manager of the Boston Bruins.
This trophy is presented annually to the player who leads the league in points
scored at the end of the regular season. If more than one player finishes the
season with the same point total the tie-breaker is determined first by the most
goals, second by the fewest games played, and third by who scored the earliest
goal of the season. In addition to the trophy the winner receives $10,000 and
the runners-up $6,000 and $4,000 respectively.
