Problems With Internal Links

Periodically I get complaints that the links to the tunes don't work. I suspect that this happens because the site is written in plain HTML, and is designed so that it can be navigated in a downloaded copy. ( I use a mirroring program to keep a copy on my hard drive.) For those with an interest in such things, the site is written and maintained using the Bluefish editor in Linux.

So far as I can see, Internet Explorer doesn't like me doing things that way. It feels I should be using FrontPage or something equally stupid, which will do things the way IE likes them. Since I don't use IE, I don't give a damn what it thinks.

I have never encountered any problems with this site using the Mozilla browser. If you are having problems, I suggest you try it. You can download it for free, eithe as a stand-alone browser (the Firebird version) or the full version with mail, newsgroup and chat facilities. Eitheer version comes with neat features such as popup blocking and tabbed browsing; for those with a real POP3 mail account, the full version has a SPAM filter that's worth the price of admission all by itself. I rarely see a junk mail message any more.

Tutorial Documents

It occurs to me that some people might like to use the tutorial material on this site without having to sit online to do so. To that end, I have decided to convert it to PDF files which you can download and use with the Adobe Acrobat viewer. The first one is on reading 6/8's. To download it, just hold down the "shift" key and click on the link.
