Steves File
Splitter v. 1.2 1999, by Steve D. Perkins --
This is a great little program that can split files into parts for placement
on floppy disks. It also creates a small file that puts them back together
again. Very easy to use and damn handy.

Dependency
Walker 2.0 for Windows 98/NT/2000 --
Dependency Walker is a free utility that scans any 32-bit or 64-bit Windows
module (exe, dll, ocx, sys, etc.) and builds a hierarchical tree diagram of
all dependent modules. For each module found, it lists all the functions that
are exported by that module, and which of those functions are actually being
called by other modules. Another view displays the minimum set of required
files, along with detailed information about each file including a full path
to the file, base address, version numbers, machine type, debug information,
and more. Dependency Walker is also very useful for troubleshooting system
errors related to loading and executing modules. Dependency Walker detects
many common application problems such as missing modules, invalid modules,
import/export mismatches, circular dependency errors, mismatched machine types
of modules, and module initialization failures. Dependency Walker runs on
Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 3.51, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000. It can process any
32-bit or 64-bit Windows modules, including ones designed for Windows CE.
It can be run as graphical application or as a console application. Dependency
Walker handles all types of module dependencies, including implicit, explicit
(dynamic), forwarded, delay-loaded, and injected. A detailed help is included.

Clean-all
Batch files --
This file is from Fred Langa and is awesome. Run it when you need to really
clean that system of old files and junk. This zip includes two different batch
files: One is for medium cleaning and one is for super cleaning. Make
sure you read each file in Notepad so that you know exactly what files it
will be deleting. Ive used them with
no problems and unless you have some funky setup on your system, you likely
wont have problems either. 6KB
Webwasher v 2.2.1 --
This is a great utility for anyone with a slow connection to the internet.
It speeds your surfing by blocking ads, cookies, scripts, pop up windows etc.
It is fully configurable and quite easy to use. It is free for personal use.

PDISK

when FDISK failed to delete/modify or create partitions. Its faster too. 6KB
Zap
-- This little
program saved my butt the other day. ZAP writes 0's to the first 128 logical
blocks of the drive with 00h pattern, starting at Cylinder 0, Head 0, Sector
1. This is helpful if you have a boot sector that you cannot fix. 21KB

Patch for
"scriptlet.typelib/Eyedog" Vulnerability (Windows 98) --
(This patch prevents worm related viruses such as ILOVEYOU, Kak worm and others
that use this exploit) This issue involves two ActiveX controls, scriptlet.typelib
and Eyedog. These controls are not in any way related to each other; their
only relationship is that both are incorrectly marked as "safe for scripting"
and can therefore be called from Internet Explorer. scriptlet.typelib is a
control used by developers to generate Type Libraries for Windows Script Components.
It is marked as "safe for scripting", but should not be because it allows
local files to be created or modified. The patch removes the "safe for scripting"
marking, thereby causing IE to request confirmation from the user before loading
the control. Eyedog is a control used by diagnostic software in Windows. It
is marked as "safe for scripting", but should not be because it allows registry
information to be queried and machine characteristics to be gathered. In addition,
one of the control's methods is vulnerable to a buffer overrun attack. The
patch sets the so-called "kill bit", which prevents it from loading within
IE. If
you need more detailed information, go here. 76KB

This is a great addition to an overall computer security plan. This program
is by the same folks that make InoculateIT. The features of Personal Edition
are: Detecting and identifying any e-mail programs, Blocking all e-mail attachments
containing VBScript, Blocking all e-mail attachments containing HTML pages
with VBScript, Blocking e-mail messages in HTML format containing VBScript,
and logging of these episodes. 2.5MB

Watcher --
If there were a way to detect that a program — any program — that is attempting
to generate email, and temporarily intervene, a user could be given the chance
to examine what's going on and decide if this program that is attempting to
generate email is something that they trust or not. If they trust it, they
allow it to continue, if not, they stop the attempt to generate the email
"dead in its tracks". This is what Mail Watcher does. It intercepts all attempts
to generate email, and anything determined to be suspicious, is brought to
the attention of the end user, who can decide for themselves if this is something
they want to allow to happen or not. 930KB
Zone Alarm Personal Firewall --
This is one of the best products to come in a very long time. Today it is
almost essential to have a firewall to prevent unauthorized access to your
computer. The nice thing about Zone Alarm is that it is not only very good
at what it does, but it also blocks outgoing communications
which is something that is rare with firewalls. This product is also free
for personal use. 1.7MB

AnalogX Script Defender will intercept any request to execute the most common
scripting types used in virus attacks, such as Visual Basic Scripting (.VBS),
Java Script (.JS), etc and can even be configured to intercept new script
extensions as needed! It's very simple to use and helps to ensure that you
do not inadvertently run a script no matter what email program you use, or
even if you get it via another method.

I have to admit something..I love downloads. I mean I really love downloads as long as they are helpful and stable. I will try my very hardest to provide you with good quality downloads and I intend to use each one myself so that I know at least how it should perform (on my system anyway). Some of these "files" are links to other sites where it was a whole lot easier to deal with. All files on this download page are in zip format.
