Rainbow Crystal Alice Ring - Tiara

Princess-wear dressy enough for special events, but sleek enough for the office or school! This versatile ornament is sometimes called an alice ring, although you might be more familiar with it as a tiara, headband, or circlet. The ring is formed of solid brass, which has been worked against an anvil to shape and harden the metal. This design features 6x4 mm rainbowed crystal Czechoslovakian atlas beads, which are five-sided glass shapes, and silver-lined gold Matsuno glass seed beads, wired (brass) onto the circular form. I chose to loop the ends of the ring to provide security when wearing it in the hair. My favorite way to wear this item is to slip it over my forehead and then push it up into my hair, where it provides a little body in addition to keeping my face free. Because the circle is on top of the head in this style, there is no pulling or digging as you might get with a headband. The alice ring also can be worn on the forehead, on top of the hair as a tiara, as a headband, and as a choker on the neck. You can use firm but gentle pressure to adjust the ring tighter/looser, rounder/oval. For me, it has become an elegant replacement for the usual beaded scrunchie on the wrist. I have been making these rings in two sizes... 15" and 13". The larger size is perfect for larger heads/necks; the smaller is perfect as a tiara for for anyone with a medium to small build. I routinely wear both sizes (I have a big head, heehee, and large neck), and find the smaller size good for hairwear, but prefer the larger size when I plan to wear the ring as a necklace. I am guessing most people will prefer the smaller length, but I am offering both sizes. As always, please e-mail me if you have any questions. The actual circlet is larger than the photograph.
