Colored Pearls
Fu T'sang Treasures is proud to offer genuine freshwater cultured pearls in a rainbow of colors! We offer two main types of colored pearls: natural color pearls and dyed pearls. In addition, we are sometimes able to obtain heat-treated pearls, with lovely iridescent peacock coloration on a black, blue, gold, or silver base.
Natural color pearls occur over a wide range of colors, shapes, and sizes. In addition to white pearls, Fu T'sang Treasures carries pink, peach, mauve, and purple natural-color pearls. These are nice quality Chinese freshwater pearls, with very rich, thick nacre and minor imperfections. These pearls are available in potato shape, rice shape, as well as less common shapes, over a large size range. These are beautiful with gemstones such as amethyst, garnet, and rose quartz! Prices for natural colored pearls are comparable to those of our natural white pearls. Please email us with inquiries.
We also carry permanently dyed freshwater cultured pearls in nearly every color imaginable! Some of the colors are green, aqua, purple, lime, coral, yellow, lavender, pink, tangerine, gold, and wine. These intense colors are created using a high-quality, very expensive Japanese dye and labor-intensive techniques. Every strand is hand-dyed. The result is an intense permanent color with a rich clarity that allows the pearl's natural luster to shine through. These pearls are available in 2.8-3 mm rice, 3.8-4 mm rice, 5-5.5 mm potato, and as half-drilled pearls for matching earstuds. While the colors of these pearls are fabulous, they do exhibit nacre imperfections, which show as more intensely-dyed areas on the pearls. Also, there is some shape variation from pearl-to-pearl. Very fresh and very affordable!
