Condolences From Around The World

Sometimes we don't know how many friends we have until something as terrible as the attacks on September 11th happen. Because of that I wanted to create this page to say thank-you to all those who have sent condolences to the citizens of our country. You won't find any links to any other page on my site other than to the home page as it did not seem appropriate for this page.

Below you will find messages of condolence that I have received in my email accounts since the attack happened. I have included their first name or business name but not their email address. They are exactly as written for the most part. Most are from other countries but some are from our own citizens.

You will also find links on this page to organizations where you can send donations or volunteer to help in some way or another. The cost of the attacks are phenomenal and the victims, firefighters, policemen, and other volunteers will need our help for a long time in order to help all those who have been affected by this terrible tragedy. Whenever you can, please take the time to donate to these organizations over the coming months. Thank you for your help!

If you would like to submit a letter of condolence to add to this page please click here I will add it as soon as possible. Thanks!

Letters Of Condolences

I extend my sincere heartfelt sorrow to all America and my American friends.

Having woken up to the shocking news of the senseless terrorist rape of your beautiful country along with the very sad loss of so many of your wonderful folk.

We feel so helpless here in Australia, with our televisions going non stop we are witnessing heroism at its best during the mammoth rescue efforts under such terrible conditions.

I personally am very saddened with a heavy heart as are my fellow Australians.

The American people are in our prayers and may God be with each and everyone of you in your hour of need.

God Bless America.

I am a Canadian who along with all Canadians are heart broken and sickened at what has happened to not only our neighbors - America, but, to the world. I totally agree with what you wrote on ever point. I'm not sure which group you are with and how many people your email got to but could you send this message to them on mine and my Country's behalf. There is so much on the media on how the World is grieving, but, I wish All Americans could see how much Canadians have also been effected by your tragedy. Many of us are relying on American Media to let you all know we are here for you and will fight to the bitter end to make things right again.

One other thing I found very upsetting, and this is only my own personal opinion. Watching CNN there is always a string of headlines running at the bottom of our T.V. screens. When I read that Wal-Mart and K-mart SOLD thousands of American Flags I was sick to my stomach. Not that so many people bought the flags, but, that retailers the size of Wal-Mart and K-mart were actually charging for the flags!!! These two companies are what they are because of hard working Americans and they don't have the respect to give out free flags!? That's sick. Again I only speak for myself. My family will no longer be shopping at Wal-Mart and or K-mart because of this.

It's time to give back to the people in this time of need, not digging it deeper.

God Bless and please know that Canadians are your loving neighbors all the way!!

Hello... My name is AJ. I usually "market" on the internet to build an income for me, my family, and my downline... but I haven't been able to since Tuesday's event... It Just didn't feel like "The right thing to do". I would like to take a short moment of silence today in honor of the victims in this week's tragedy. And, send my heartfelt condolences to their families and friends.

Tuesday September 11th, 2001 (9/11/01) - (911) was a day of horror for all of us in the United States. Businesses and schools across the nation shut down in shock, (and precaution), at the terrorist strike against the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. People all around the world were stunned by this catastrophic deed. They have already taken away a part of our freedom, as we now live in fear of "What will happen next?"

Many of us upon learning of the attack, panicked as we frantically began trying to verify the safety of our friends and family. Our prayers went to the victims of the tragedy. We could only watch the television in frustration at our inability to do anything about the tragic event.

I live in the USA, and until this day of disgusting terrorism, not only to the innocent souls of New York, but on all humanity, the world shrunk in the knowledge that none of us on this planet called "Earth" are safe from such barbaric acts. America is a nation of great courage and inner strength and will prevail with even greater strength against this evil. We are ALL in shock and mourning and we especially grieve for all of you who are personally affected. Be strong, all decent human beings will never rest until the world is rid of this evil and again made a safer place for all of us!

All civilized people are appalled and horrified by the unfolding tragedy in New York, Washington and elsewhere. But I have news for the bastards who did this: you are not going to get anyone down wherever you strike.

Our prayers go naturally to the victims and their families. They need to be remembered, not just today but in the future.

We are reminded today that civilization is a fragile thing and that in today's interconnected world to strike at one is to strike at all.

One can only imagine the unimaginable selfishness of the terrorists. But we cannot give in to it.

During the London blitz in World War II, the constant bombing only made the people stronger. Far from being broke, civilian morale soared, the worse it was, the more determined the people to resist.

We all need some of the "blitz spirit" today. And we need to do what those brave people in their time did: pick ourselves up and carry on. The worst thing in the world would be to stop what we were doing because of the barbarism of a handful of people. Because, rest assured, this is a handful, not more. And they must not be allowed to stop millions of people and strike us all with crippling fear.

So, with a prayer in my heart for the victims, I intend to do today just what I was going to do before. We cannot let the barbaric few terrorize us.

A Call To All Americans:

Our Land, our lives and our society have all been seriously compromised by an attack from the very same foreigners that we all welcome into our great country without regard to their national origin, religion or cultural differences. We, as a country and as individuals, are no longer safe going about our daily lives that we all are so proud of and have worked so hard to create.

The time has come for all AMERICANS to view our country with the same concern as we do our homes. I do not believe there are any citizens in this country, who would allow anyone and everyone into their homes just to prove that we are a nice people. As a matter of the basic instinct for survival and for the protection of our families, we are very selective as to who we welcome into our homes where we are most vulnerable. Now it is time to initiate the same personal feelings about our great country. (Actually it's too late)

As free Americans, we as a people, possess the greatest power on earth; "The Power to Choose". Everyday, we exercise that power to direct and shape our lives. Now it is time to reconsider whether we want to be known as the country who welcomes all without regard, or the country where our citizens are safe from the danger of all the zealots, religious fanatics and cultural misfits in the world, who threaten our very existance. Which would you choose?

We are not the world police. It is not our position to go around the world and attempt to correct all the problems of all other countries who do not embrace our own beliefs (even though our goverment has been doing just that). It is time for us to protect the citizens of our country at the expense of our reputation as a country who caters all foreigners of all cultures. Security and protection, or a reputation of "we love everyone no matter what". Which would you choose?

It is a natural feeling to desire to be with your own kind, and yet we attempt to overcome nature with "political correctness", and now it has become obvious, that conflict is the result, and not love and acceptance. To be surrounded by like people with like feelings, or...freaks and nuts who would do your family harm; Which would you choose?

People of America, we have a wonderful thing in our great country and yet we are allowing it to be destroyed along with our friends and loved ones in the name of "political correctness". Your safe life and the security of your family,... or "political correctness". Which would you choose?

I believe we need desperately to implore our leaders to get out of those foreign countries who do not embrace our culture and leave them to their own devices, and at the same time turn those very same people away from our front door, (as we would our homes) who come here to enjoy our way of life, but do not accept it as their own.

Your voice can be heard around the world through the next greatest power on earth; The Internet. Let's all send messages to those who come to our country and reject our culture, and rid ourselves of the vermin who want to bring us down.

I once heard a Japanese citizen say that he does not understand why America puts the rights of a person (foreign or not) first, before the good of the country. Which would you choose?

George

My sincere and heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to everyone in our United States of America. We have all been affected, and especially the injured, families, friends and acquaintances of the injured and dead.

The terrorists who did this will pay. Some of them paid by suicide in committing these horrendous acts. But the ones responsible will be hunted down and punished by the United States.

A terrorist is a coward. A coward hides and slips around and plans horrible disasters to innocent people because he is not man enough to stand up for what he believes in and face the public. A coward mistakenly believes he is in control. A coward does not have enough self confidence to face the consequences of his actions.

Terrorists need to BEWARE! We are a strong nation. We have FREEDOM. They cannot take that away from us. Their act of cowardice only reinforces our strength.

To everyone: my heart breaks for us all. My prayers are that we always do our best and be the example to the world that we are able to handle any situation through the grace of God in a reasonable and honorable manner.

To those of you who are victims or have family and friends who are victims: Take strength in God and each other. Reach out and let this Nation help you through this.

My words seem so feeble at a time like this. But I care for all of you. God bless you in each and every way.

Im proud to be an American, where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the Americans who died, that gave that right to you and me! To honor those that gave their lives, join me in keeping a "Candle of Hope" burning..at work, at home, wherever you can. If there is anything good that can come from this tragedy, it's realizing that we all have to take care of and look out for each other. Get to know someone you don't know, a neighbor, a co-worker, another daycare parent. Show the world, and particularly the terrorists, that instead of being fearful, we stand stronger than ever, because their actions have pulled us together as a nation. America is blessed, and they can't take that away. Wow, thanks for reading all that, I get carried away:)........ You all take care, be strong, hug your children:)

Hello to anyone who may read this today or in the next few days. Like all I am in complete shock at today's events. At this moment it is 10:57pm where I am. I have an 11 year old son and a 6 year old daughter both asleep in my bed behind me. I wouldn't have said no to them tonight. My husband is working, a job that has to be done and will be home later tonight. I am just sitting here in sadness and grief for anyone affected by this. I also feel compelled to say that I have never been as proud of the Americans I've heard speak: newscasters, reporters, just everyone, openly giving prayers to God. That is something you don't see, It is just so "I don't know the word I want" that it had to be something like this that brings back some of the faith and belief in God that this nation was built upon.

This nation was built upon freedom and faith in God. I, for one, cannot wait to get into church tomorrow evening for services. As you read this, if you would, please take a moment to center your thoughts and pray to the one and True God for mercy at this time. From the emails I have received, we will be a nation majorly joined in unified prayer tonight.

Hello,

I was so overwhelmed by the sorrow and prayers for the United States. I live in Tennessee and the effect from the attack on New York Washington D.C., and Pittsburgh just blew me away. The news has been on my T.V. all day. As you, I am shocked how this can happen. We are all blinded by, "it always happens to someone else and this kind of thing can never happen here", But it did. The news is still on and it is 10:10, it started at about 8:50 this morning. But the response from the world has brought many more tears to my eyes. I just can't believe how many people this effected, in a little over 12 hours the emails I have received of prayers and condolences is remarkable. Our State is in a D alert, which is unbelievable for Tennessee, People have gone crazy thinking gas prices will rise and the gas stations are crammed with people in hopes to get gas before they run out. I would like to thank each and every one of you that have sent your prayers to the United States. We all come together in a time of crises, I wish our governments and leaders were the same way... But most are not. It is hard to say how many lives were lost over this, but I beleive it brought everyone to their knees. So I thank you and God again for sending prayers instead of ads.

At the 11th hour on the 11 day of the 11th month of 1918 hostilities ceased between the Allied Forces and Germany.

We mark this day in memory of all the fallen soldiers of past wars. To remember their supreme sacrifice and to remember the gift that was given to us by all those who contributed to keep us free.

I had saved this letter for November 11 but in light of yesterdays terrible human tragedy I am posting it now. Granted that this has nothing to do with marketing. It deals with something far more important.

In my mind peace is far more important than commerce.

I want to offer my sincerest condolences and sympathy to all those who have suffered. And I want to help. Also I want to say how pleased I was to see others posting comments, offering prayer and support for the victims of the terrorist attacks.

Today we live in peace and freedom that was bought for us by thousands of men, who fought against horrors which we can only imagine.

Take any movie or television show about war. No matter how gruesome or graphic they are, they can in no way come close to what the real experience must have been like. Yet they gave for us, for themselves and their families and country. And many paid the ultimate price.

We MUST remember. If we do not, the sacrifice of thousands of lives will be meaningless. And more importantly we need to remember so that we can ensure that it doesn't happen again.

Time moves on and the past is the past but today I feel the deepest gratitude in my heart for all of those bright young men, full of life who offered their lives for our peace and freedom.

Now I know there are people who will not agree with me but I don't wish to see these events causing more pain and bloodshed. However I agree that these terrorists must be stopped and punished.

I don't know what the answer is. To react in fear and anger only causes more fear and anger. Peace cannot be attained through violence, it can only be attained through understanding. PEACE is always the best solution.

As I got up this morning and felt the sun on my face I could not help but ache for those who will never see the again sun or spend time with their families. The image of that aircraft slicing into Tower #2 and erupting in flames will live with me for the rest of my life.

Also I would like to help. Any ideas?

Bless you all!!
Sharon

I would just like to send my condolences to every American. This would truly be the most horrific act of evil the world has ever seen.

What has happened to the people of this world?

To all the families, friends, neighbours, work friends, and most importantly the children of America I cannot but fathom the depth of your grief.

All I can do is offer my deepest, deepest sympathy.

I am reminded so often of a little verse I once heard that stuck with me for life.... "What's done is done, what's past is past, but only what's done with love will last!" We must eternally hold on to that hope......

My heart is with you.

WE WILL ALL EVENTUALLY FEEL THIS BURDEN, IF NOT ALREADY AND THIS ACT OF SHEER COWARDICE MUST BE DEALT WITH ACCORDINGLY. WHEN THE PRESIDENT SPOKE THE OTHER NIGHT, HE ASKED OF US ALL THAT WE TRY TO GET BACK TO OUR LIVES TO SHOW THAT WHAT WAS DONE WILL NOT SEVER OUR COUNTRY BUT STRENGTHEN IT. SO ON WE NOW GO TO TRY AND REGAIN SOME NORMALCY IN OUR LIVES, NO MATTER HOW DISTANT IT MAY SEEM FOR SOME.

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the entire Brightstar Marketing Group, we wish to extend our sympathy to our fellow associates and friends so deeply effected today by this terrible tragedy in the US.

It is with sadness and despair that I write these words.... there is no way I can find words that can even begin to touch the heartbreak felt by millions throughout the world. But I can assure all Americans that the world is touched in ways that you may not even be aware of today.

I personally come from Canada, and being so close we are brothers and sisters who also feel threatened by this horrible act of cowardice.

However, we must show the world how it is so important to carry on at times like this and continue to build our lives. This is what all great countries are built on.... "Hope for the future." Too many countries are built on the dark past full of suspicion and greed. They simply don't have a positive vision for the future.

I am reminded so often of a little verse I once heard that stuck with me for life.... "What's done is done, what's past is past, but only what's done with love will last!" We must eternally hold on to that hope......

Meanwhile, we will not let this stop us, and we are going to continue on with our promotions and building an organization you can be proud of. I personally at times like this need to fill my mind with positive thoughts and keep busy.......

Once again I want all of you to know how we feel.....

Take care everyone.
Warmest,

Of course with the events of last week its hard to focus on anything else but we must remain strong and keep the familes that lost loved ones in our prayers, We must also remember our leaders while we are in this time of war. Praying they make decisions based on what's best for us.

Most important you see the quickness of how life can be taken away, make sure your heart is right with God. You are not promised tomorrow but if you live for Him you are promised everlasting life. May God Bless in all that you do.

If you need a friend He is always there.....

Thank you all for the condolences, prayers, moments of silence, promises of donations, sympathy, and good old-fashioned support. I have saved all of them. I will not go so far as to say that I will ONLY do business with these folks, but you each have a special place in my heart.

There was one from a woman in Korea, who apologized for her poor English. Another man from Australia who remarked that his English failed him at this time. Let me tell you: I am American through and through, English is my native tongue, and words have failed me, too. I doubt there are words in any language to describe what has befallen us.

I also want to say thank you to those who continued "business as usual." It was a reminder that life does go on, no matter what the tragedy. Some of us deal with it by burying ourselves in our work. It has helped me to overcome my shock and immobility sooner, I think. Those of us that live still have food to put on the table, and a roof to keep over our heads.

I must admit to a personal sensitivity to certain words and phrases used: Explode, targeted, get hits to your website, mentions of Disneyland (because they were evacuated), and Send your message to Billions (how many thousands will never again see their email?). My [delete] key works just fine, and these are MY issues to deal with, not yours.

I was glad to see that autoresponders were turned off (I see they're on again today), and I really hope the safelist moderators are forgiving bounces for awhile. For some of us, our email is the least of our concerns.,P> \louise\

Today, myself, my business associates, and the people in my town, met on the town square. Our Liberty Bell tolled as we gathered. A prayer was offered and a litany followed. I walked back to my car along flag lined streets. As I walked, a passerby turned to me and said, "I have never seen so many people on the streets of Vidalia. God Bless America."

Take heart, have faith. By the Grace of God, Good will prevail.

It's times like this...that there is no border. No line between Canada and the US.

It's times like this...that the feeling of deep sorrow knows no boundary.

I look around and notice the faces of those in a city 1,000's of miles from a tragedy of unheard horror. Those faces show shock, disbelief...and sadness.

The incredible events in New York has shaken Canadians to the core. One can only guess how it feels closer to home in the US.

My deepest condolences to those who have been affected by this tragedy. Our Canadian hearts are with you during this dark hour.

To All Our Dear Friends,

As a Canadian who has many many American friends, my heart goes out to all of those who have suffered the loss of dear loved ones in this act of evil.

To the families and friends of those who lost their lives, the 300 firefighters, 75 police officers and other rescue workers who lost their lives while trying to save the lives of others we offer our sincere condolences. My daughter is a paramedic and a nurse and her boyfriend is a firefighter, so I know first hand the dedication these professions have in putting the lives of others before their own.

Let us all unite in prayer to help those who have suffered from this unspeakable act of terror.

Canadians are donating blood and cash to assist our US neighbours. Many people waiting in line for three hours to donate blood.

Look to the positive now. There will be many heartwarming stories of dedication and courage and heroism to come.

Our thoughts are with you,
God Bless All of You,

I express grief and pray for the victims of this incomprehensible disaster. May their souls rest in peace and God be with their families in this time of crisis.

I was terribly shocked at this sudden act of barbarism by a bunch of cold blooded terrorists. It is appalling to see the destruction of humanity by man. Lest it be repeated in future, let peace loving nations join hands and crush terrorism so that never does any terrorist dare strike again.

The events of this week have been a horrible shock to the world. So many non-military people from so many countries were killed in just a few minutes in the worst terrorist attack ever on US soil.

Furthermore, no one knows yet who did it or why.

Yet thousands are suffering and in shock having either been injured, witnessed the events, or having lost friends or family in the tragedy.

In the midst of this, I am encouraged. I have been online since 1998, and believe me, I have received a LOT of commercial email. This week, however, I have received newsletters and ezines from all over the world offering condolences and help for our American friends. I have received email from the UK, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, Canada, and many, many other countries. Almost all the hype and commercial messages have stopped.

This is networking at its finest! It shows that there are business people all over the world who are out to make money with their businesses, but who PUT PEOPLE FIRST.

While I am terribly saddened by the cold hard reality that there are some people in the world who place no value on human life, I am greatly encouraged by the reaction I have witnessed here online.

YOU are making the world a better place by being in it!

Thank you!
Dave
