my LAST foto exhibit
in Spain was held in Nerja (Costa del Sol) during the months of Oct and Nov and was extended through December of 2006 at the Nerja Cultural Center with some pretty impressive imagery **all artnudes** that even had me shocked when I first saw them. Due to my packing and trashing things preparing for my return to the USA in late 2006, I was unable to attend.
Tony's Skin Gray exhibition
held 5 - 17 September, 2002 at the Fundación Alcalde Zoilo Ruiz-Mateos in Rota (Cádiz) Spain.
This isn't a great display of the show, but at least you can have an idea of how it was like. There were a lot of visitors, including many from Germany, Greece, Belgium and England, and of course, the USA. There was also a dog that visited too.... I didn't inquire where he was from! acHooooooo!!
The reason I exhibit is twofold: to share my vision with the public and hear the comments. Each person sees an image differently and thus, has different opinions. It's also interesting to see what men like, as opposed to what the women enjoy seeing. Secondly, the reason is to also generate interest in the various individuals viewing my imagery, and finding new bodies that will pose to create new art. My form of nude imagery is very unqiue in this area; NOW even the photo studios here have started copying (stealing) my style of photographing the body (they have already stolen my portrait poses using my ideas as their own), so everyone knows they are seeing art created with my camera.
However, due to emotions runnung rampant these past few months, plus the inability to sell any prints of my images (so-called art), and other factors, I haven't worked with too many models recently. More info on the bio page. I know other true artists will understand.....
Thanks for visiting!

These are a few of the various comments I overheard, or was told. I really enjoy interacting with visitors viewing images that I have worked hard to create. I consider my imagery unique, just as unique as some of the comments I receive.
Friend of a photographer friend: There's a lot of careful composition planned in every pix Reply: I don't really plan my imagery. Sure, I plan the scene and all, but once I look through the viewfinder, it's the light upon the skin that I only see. It's more like see, move and shoot, than planned careful composing
Wife of friend: I see a lot of forms and shapes in the photos (then she walks to every photo and shows me the shape she sees, mostly triangles; I'm wide-eyed and shocked!!) Reply: This isn't intentional or planned. That she would see so many geometric shapes is coincidental! But she was correct; there are a LOT of shapes in those images!!!
Visiting couple from Germany: Shot in a studio aren't they? Reply: Actually, aside from the obvious images that show the beach, most are shot in either the person's or my living room, or wherever I can find a lot of bright sunlight.
Teen Spanish Girl with friends: I won't enter. I hate photographs! Reply: I thought: This young girl must not have a lot of recorded past memories of her short life!!!
Visiting american from Germany: Like the soft light on the skin Reply: Thanks! That's what I look for and try to capture in my photographs!
Spanish man: Do you use a commercial processor for your film or prints? Reply: Quite a few people asked this. All of the prints were printed on glossy RC paper and showed deep blacks, which I then retouched by hand to remove any dirt, etc. These exacting people noticed that and inquired also if I have a darkroom! Of course! I would NOT allow anyone to touch MY negatives or to process my prints! The best quality and results can be obtained only if you do it all yourself! But I was surprised by the number of people who noticed the difference....
Young spanish girl: I don't like photography too much! (After entering and viewing the photos, selected three that she didn't DISlike as much) Reply: What can I say???
Almost all visitors: Why are your photos so dark?? Reply: When I shoot, I do NOT use a flash, floods or reflector. This makes for a darker image than what most people are used to. And, as I base the photo exposure on the reflected light on the skin, it makes for an even darker photo!!
My observations (for all it's worth):
I noticed most women liked the photos showing the full body with the light reflecting off the body.
Most men liked the series (and quite a few of the images) showing the backside of the female body.
Most women asked why only women were depicted in the images and no men. Reply: I search for bodies; I don't discriminate! I shoot who I can find, or who calls me!!!
