MichelleCimarron River A superb Brown Trout stream in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The Cimarron River is a tailwater fishery that produces great numbers of fish and fly fishing opportunities for Brown Trout. The rich aquatic environment has an abundance of insects resulting in excellent dry fly fishing and nymph fishing. This midsize stream fishes well from May to the end of September; a very good summer time stream

Rio Costilla An excellent summer fly fishing excursion. The Rio Costilla offers meadow fishing for Rio Grande Cutthroats and cutbows. The Rio Costilla meanders down a long valley with many pools, runs, undercut banks and riffles. Aggressive cutthroats and their hybrids coupled with exquisite scenery delight the fly fishing angler with a memorable trip. The Rio Costilla in Valle Vidal opens July 1st for catch and release fishing.

Jemez Mountains The Jemez Mountain streams proximity to either Albuquerque or Santa Fe is a perfect day excursion during a vacation visit to New Mexico. Diverse mountain streams contain Brown, Rainbow and Cutthroat Trouts in mid size mountain streams. The fly fishing is good from spring through fall.
