Proper usage: You will not normally need Icon2 and Title2, unless you are getting monsters from the zombie family and up. 

Let's say you want to catch a GranSlime. You'd only need to input: 

0119C9D1 (Icon1 - Is for Map sprite)
0100CBD1 (Family - see list. 00=Slime, 01=Dragon, etc)
011960D9 (Title - Monster name + In-Battle Sprite)


Now get in a fight. Be careful battle codes can cause a Gameshark to crash your DWM2 cartridge. I usually wait till after Ive used meat and I land the killing blow to reactivate any codes. If you used enough meat, it should be a GranSlime that'd join you. :) 

Now here comes the rest. See since there are actually 315 unique monsters in DWM2 and a hexadecimal bit only goes to FF (255 in decimal) it has to use a second bit to get ALL the monsters. If you need anything from Mudron(ZOmbie) on up, you need to add Icon2 and Title2. DOnt worry you only need to set the value to 01. Let's say you wanted to catch a LordDraco (My favorite! *grin*) Since he's in the ??? family and on the second bit, your code would now appear as:
