2) "Sweet Pea" Picture Frame (recently saw this idea somewhere - maybe Mailbox Yearbook?? )
Paint eight popsicle sticks green for each child. When dry, glue them into a picture frame using two sticks on each side. Add a magnet to the back after taping each child's picture in the frame. Cut a green oval from felt. Fold it in half and glue or stitch the ends together to form a pea pod shape. Glue the pod to the frame on the bottom two sticks. Add three tiny green pom poms in the pod to look like peas. On the top use a permanent black marker to write "I'm Your Sweet Pea!" Adorable!! Thanks to whomever thought of the idea.

3) *** Card for Mom or Dad
Fold a large piece of construction paper in half. Open up. Then fold one side to the fold and do the same with the other side. Now your card opens up from the middle on both sides. Those who can write can write the words "Happy Mother's (or Father's ) Day" on the outside of the card. On the inside, draw rainbow lines. Inside the rainbow lines, have the child use their fingers to make thumb prints dipped in ink or paints. Ink dries almost instantly, so that's what I used. Use one color for each part of the rainbow. "A Rainbow of Love" can be written on the inside by the rainbow along with name and year.

4)***Card and Poem for Dad
At arrival or departure have the Dads dip their hand on a large ink pad or in paint. If Dad doesn't do the daycare duties, then you may have to send it home to have them trace around their hand and return it the next day. (Or use Grandpa or special Father-figure) Have Dad make his handprint on the right side of a sheet of paper. Then during the day, have the child do the same on the left side of the paper. Above the child's hand, towards the middle, print the following poem or something similar.
Someday, Dad, my hand will grow just as big.
And Someday I'll be as old.
But until that day I'm just so happy
To have your hand to hold.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 2000
Love,_________

5)*** More Poems for Cards....
Dad,
This is to remind you,
When I have grown so tall,
That I was once quite little
and my hands were very small.
Love, __________

__________________________________________
Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And I always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls
But everyday I'm growing.
I'll be grown up some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away

So here's a final handprint
So that you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was small
Love, ___________________

6) "You're a Great Catch Dad!"
Needed: contact paper approx. two 7" x 12" pieces per child
Various bright colors of tissue paper cut into oval shapes (each oval approx. 1 1/2" x 2 1/2")
large wiggle eyes
yarn, string or fishing line
a stick about 2'long per child

Lay all the ovals in the center of the table. Give each child one sheet of contact paper; sticky side up. Encourage them to cover the sheet with the ovals. Also encourage laying the ovals horizontally to make them look like scales. Notice I said "encourage". Don't ever say the child did it wrong. Before the activity starts I would share with the older children that the ovals, when laid horizontally, look like scales of a fish. But Dad will love it any way they finish it, so don't worry!!
When done, lay the other sheet of contact paper on top of it and seal. Cut out a large fish shape from it. Have the child help add the wiggle eyes (one on each side)
For each "pole", tie yarn, string or fishing line to the end of the stick and at the end of the string, tie a large paper clip as your hook. Add the fish to the hook by poking the paper clip through the fish's mouth. Fold a sheet of paper in half as if making a card. On the outside of it, write the words, "You're a Great Catch, Dad!" Love, _________ Nothing needs to go on the inside. Fold it over the stick and glue it together so it stays on. You may want to prep the sticks and yarn the evening before since it takes a while for each child.

7) Muffins for Dad
Have the children each make two muffins using your favorite recipe and flavor. Wrap each in cling wrap.
Attach the following poem:
I made these muffins, Dad!
One for me, the other for you.
I hope we can share them
Along with a hug or two.
Happy Father's Day Daddy!
Love, ____________

8) My Daddy Book
Create a book by stapling sheets of 8 1/2" by 11" white construction paper together. Label each sheet with the following phrases or some of your own.....
1-the cover. "Daddy and Me" Have the child draw a picture of himself or herself with Dad.
2-"Our Hands" Trace around the child's hand and leave a spot for Dad to trace around his at home.
3-"Daddy and I love to_______________" After filling in the blank with what the child says, have them draw or cut out magazine pictures to describe the answer.
4-"My Daddy is as tall as a __________ and as strong as a________________. He loves to play_______________and his favorite book is __________ . He likes to cook__________________ but he can't cook _____________________. Daddy and I also like to _______________________."
5- "My Daddy's the Best Dad in the world because he loves ME!!" Have the child draw a big heart on the sheet and color it in.

9)Father's Day
Needed: fabric paints
Tshirt, chef's hat, chef's apron, shop apron, baseball-type hat, or tool apron depending on what you think the Dad's would like to have
Paint the children's foot with the fabric paint. Have the child carefully step on Dad's tshirt or whatever you picked. Wash off and choose a different color and repeat the procedure. Multi-child families would all step on the same item. Somewhere on it, write the words "My Kid Walks All Over Me!" or "My Kids Walk All Over Me!"

10) Father's Day Pizza
Ahead of time, make up pizza dough (enough for each child to have one medium pizza). Cook according to directions and freeze until ready to use. When ready have the children help make Dad a pizza!!! They will love to spread the sauce, add the cheese and choose Dad's favorite toppings to add. Wrap in Saran Wrap or put in freezer bags and freeze.
A Pizza for Father's Day!
Oh, what a treat!!
I made it for us
To cook and to eat
It's got all your favorites
And some of mine too!
Happy Father's Day, Dad
I Love You!!!

11) Father's Day Treat
Decorate white paper lunch bags with stickers, ink stampers, markers, crayons or sponge paints. When dry, place a bag of micro popcorn, two juice boxes, a video rental gift certificate and a note inside of the bag. Fold the top over and staple or use another method to creatively keep it shut. The note inside could say something like
COUPON
Good for one evening of fun with
ME!!!
Happy Father's Day!
