About this Web Page
In this section you will find many different
links to descriptions and treatment options as well as patient
reports about special cancers. There is some focus on more personal
(patient reports) pages, which are difficult to find by search
engines. If you happen to know about Patient Reports
please send the URL to
me.

This web page will be regularly updated and more cancers will be
added. The links will be regularly screened and dead links will be
eliminated. If you are just looking for a specific cancer type,
which is not listed here and want to get basic knowledge, then go
to the NCI
Alphabetical Cancer List.

I would like to point to the pages of the ´National Cancer
Institute´ describing treatments. You will find the
abbreviation ´PDQ´. In addition there are NCI pages
describing the cancer itself, support groups etc. Here is the
description from the NCI pages about PDQ.
What is PDQ. PDQ is a computer system
that gives up-to-date information on cancer and its prevention,
detection, treatment, and supportive care. It is a service of the
National Cancer Institute (NCI) for people with cancer and their
families and for doctors, nurses, and other health care
professionals.
To ensure that it remains current, the
information in PDQ is reviewed and updated each month by experts in
the fields of cancer treatment, prevention, screening, and
supportive care. PDQ also provides information about research on
new treatments (clinical trials), doctors who treat cancer, and
hospitals with cancer programs. The treatment information in this
summary is based on information in the PDQ summary for health
professionals on this cancer.
