After the terrorist horror of the Trade Center and the Pentagon bombings it should be clear to this administration that no Missile Defense System would have had a snowball's chance in hell of stopping the attack. Hopefully no official wiil even attempt to deny it. There is work to do and reality to be faced. No amount of money thrown to the R & D of this Star Wars system is going to prevent these terrorists from attacking us. No deep indulgence in prayer or religious frenzy is going to relieve us of this threat or protect us.

I am not an expert regarding much of anything but I can at least be informed. The Web is a marvelous creation of man. You enter a request for information and bingo, out it spits more articles and references than a simple mind such as mine can absorb in ten lifetimes. I will try. My thoughts: first there seems to be some difficulty identifying the rogue nation who intends to attack us. Secondly who exactly is capable of attacking us and to what extent? These are two questions that need answers. It appears that those in control of this nation haven't adequately investigated those simple questions as they offer no examples. Mine own feeling is that they dare not identify any particular nation lest they awaken a new hostility in a once quiet nation.

Some Sage has said that in this world to find the reason or the guilty one needs only to follow the money. Probably I've not adequate resources to uncover all the ties that certainly Rumsfield and Bush have to the Defense Industry but surely someone else has and that can be uncovered. I can't be the only one left in this country that believes peace would be a far nobler goal and a monumental achievement to the advancement of humanity.

We seem intent on discovering enemies or creating them. Cooperation and understanding and sharing shouldn't be such strangers to us. We claim to be a giving compassionate nation but these bible thumping gun toters are anything but. I believe they're paranoid. One can't be so dedicated to protecting the right to carry guns, kill animals, and execute criminals and still wish to be perceived as peace loving. Obviously their philosophy has nothing to do with peace. Commonsense needs to prevail. Compassion needs to be more than a passage in some religious fantasy.

Anyway with a fervent dislike of all that proclaims righteousness and godliness I'm off to the Web Wizard to see what we can see. Maybe I'll meet Dorothy on this yellow brick road.
