Dear Delriece...
I am in a quandry. As of late, I feel overwhelmed by what I perceive
as Christian religious zeal. Don't get me wrong, I am not a hatemonger
or separatist. I believe everyone has the right to practice that which
enriches their life and touches them in a personal way. However, I'm
not Christian, and don't want to be. We are being bombarded by patriotic
messages everywhere. I am a proud American. A Pagan American. It seems
that my religion is, at best, invalidated in all of the current fervor.
"If you aren't Judeo- Christian, you are a traitor,in league with
'Satan'" seems to be the unspoken theme. I feel so out of touch with my
faith. Part of the reason I'm not actively involved in my local community
is the preponderance of "Witch Wars". Disunity is not my thing, and it's
difficult to stay neutral when people are urging you to take sides. I
need to regain my spirituality. I feel lost and distanced from the
Mother's wellspring, even though I know I am not. Please, any suggest!

__________
Dear Dark Electric,
I find that the best way to fight this war is from within. Find peace within, share peace with your friends, and radiate peace into your community. Do not be afraid to share who you are and start first with your friends and family if you haven't already. If a Christian friend approaches you and begins to speak about their beliefs then first thank them for sharing something with you that is obviously so special to them. Then decline by telling them that you are happy with your chosen path and you wish them luck on their own. The next step is harder. Reach out to your community through public service if you like. It's often good to join forces with a local Pagan group for a food drive or other activity. Good luck!
Light!
