I am just beginning my journey but my question is how
does one develop ones physic powers to be able to tell when someone is
lying to them? or to read another's mind? I know these may seem silly
questions but I would really like to know if this can be done and how.

There are those who develop intuition about people who are lying or about what another person is feeling by connecting with their energies. But, before exchanging energies with another, one should always ask permission! And if you have to ask permission, you might as well ask them what is on their mind!
