A Gedcom file is the now the generally accepted way of transferring
family trees from one software package to another even if they
are not the same software. They were developed so that genealogists
could easily join family's together electronically.
Please contact me for a copy of the Gedcom. Please specify which
branches you require as my file is rather large and contains information
that you will probably not require in yours. You will need a program
to view these if you have not already done so. Use the software
link to the left to find a couple of free packages.
Alternatively you can go to http://www.gencircles.com/users/aalsweiler/1
to search and click through the family tree. I have done this
so that people that are searching for individuals may stumble
across the family, and it also has smart software for finding
common people from other peoples Gedcoms. This is the simplest
way to expand our tree quickly without doubling up on the work.
I have now also put a copy of the Gedcom on http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?db=aalsweiler
This is a large site that has many hits so I thought it worthwhile.
I have now taken the liberty of removing all information of people that are considered to be still living. This was done in response to a communication for me to do so. If you find anything either on my site or the Gedcom sites above
that offends or upsets you please let me know so that I might
rectify it. It is my intent to research not upset. Should you wish to find out what information I hold that is relevant to you please contact me and I will be more than happy to forward it to you. I may ask for some sort of confirmation as to your ID so please do not be offended, I am only trying to protect your privacy.
