The Flavor of the Moment? PC's Rafe and Alison
Rafe and Alison are a match made in Heaven, according to many Port Charles fans, but Erin Hershey (Alison) admits that, at first, she didn't think the pairing was so angelic.
"I thought Jamal was Alison's soul mate, I really did," Hershey reveals. "She had such a huge love for Jamal, and when he was pushing her away it hurt so badly."
Hershey says that's when her co-stars gave her a "reality" check. "John York (Mac, General Hospital) reminded us that, yes, some things are crazy, but we aren't doing documentaries. We're doing daytime. Sometimes when things don't make sense, just ride it. Go with it."
Her co-star Brian Gaskill (Rafe) had no such qualms. "For the first time in my career I'm actually enjoying myself," he smiles. "I feel like I'm playing a character that's more suited to me."
However, Gaskill thinks "the other shoe is going to drop eventually. I feel like [I'm] on X-Files, the freak of the week. I'm the flavor of the moment. There will be people who are like, 'Eh, I'm over Rafe.'"
Heaven forbid.
