Creating Text

Description

We have several office conventions, which combine to form our office standard.

First, all text and annotation on a drawing (not the title block) is:

  • CASE: Upper
  • FONT: "True-Type" font Graphite Light Narrow.(filename: GRAPHLTN.TTF Download)
  • PLOTTED HEIGHT: 1/8" (1/4" for Headings)
  • WIDTH FACTOR: 1.000
  • PUNCTUATION: NO periods, exclamation or question marks. (Commas and parentheses are allowed).
In our office, we assign names to text styles using the following format: TXT(SF).

The letters 'TXT' are included in ALL of our text styles, followed by the scale factor (represented by the letters "SF") corresponding to the plotted drawing's scale. For instance, the name "DMZ48" represents the dimension style that would be utilized in a 1/4"=1'-0" scale drawing, where 48 is the scale factor.

You can refer to this table for a complete listing of scale factors, dimension and text styles associated with each scale of drawing.

Once a given text style has been created, it can then be incorporated (nested) into its corresponding dimension style.
