Procedure
- Open Windows Explorer and create a new folder
G:\AutoCad\Active Job Drawings\[job name here], inserting the proper job name. In Windows Explorer change the folder name "New Folder" to describe the new Job's name.
- Open
G:\AutoCad\Standard Details\Title Blocks-roll feed 2000\ODC ARCH TEMPLATE 2000.DWG. Perform a Save as..., naming the new drawing "A-1.dwg" in the newly created Job Folder. (This drawing "A-1" will be copied over and over again to generate additional plottable sheets, i.e. A-2, A-3, etc., as needed to fulfill the drafting requirements of the project.)
Note: In the template drawing, there exists five (5) tabbed ‘pages’ ; one entitled Model Space and four others (the layouts) entitled 24x36 sheet, 18x24 sheet, 11x17 sheet and 8.5x11 portrait.
The Model Space page is the same as Tiled Model Space in ACAD R14. Each of the
layout pages is the equivalent to Paper Space in R14. Floating viewports are created
in these layouts.
- Place a copy of the proper sized border sheet in the Job Folder. Rename this border sheet "X-BORDER.DWG."
- In sheet "A-1," make active the proper sized Layout sheet. Xref attach the "X-Border.dwg" at insertion point (0,0,0).
- As in ACAD R14, the following simplified procedure for creating drawings will apply:
- The base drawing (base plan) will be created, with a simple "X-" prefix.
- From this will be derived trade specific, first generation base drawings for each of the various trades (the XA-, XM-, XP- and XE- Plans, respectively).
