WIRENECK [biography/discography]
Formed in 1998,Wireneck is a four piece Hard Rock/Metal band hailing
from
Statesboro Georgia. The members Jeff Rushing(Vocals), Will
Rushing(Bass), Brian Prevatt(Drums), and Chris Rushing(Guitar) set out to create music
that would sweep both ends of the audio spectrum. Combining influences from
Led Zepplin to Cannibal Corpse, Wireneck achieves a blend of melody and
bone crunching heaviness that leads the listener through a hailstorm of
light and dark sounds. Their songs have been described as "incredibly compiled
epics, ranging from an intense metalcore style to surprisingly melodic
passages". Unlike many of todays rock acts, Wireneck hasn't given in to the
detuned 7 string gimmick. You won't see Wireneck with their faces painted or
wearing masks trying to look "Metal". To pigeonhole Wireneck with these types
of Nu-Metal bands would be missing the point entirely. The Nu-Metal label
is just a feeble attempt to classify and restrict. Wireneck is not about
labels. They are about playing music that rocks, having a good time and
maybe even making a buck or two along the way.
