It rained ALL weekend, from Friday night when we came to Sunday morning when we left. We stayed dry (for the most part) under the tarp we put up over our cooking area, but the wind was so strong that it tried to knock the support sticks over. As soon as we got there, Jean and I made an excursion to nearby Albion and spent $50 at the grocery store. Whoever said camping is cheap?? But we sure ate like royalty! Hot dogs and salad and pancakes and black beans and STEAK and of course.....s'mores. :) The whole weekend was cold and rainy (I had three sweatshirts on and was still cold!) so we didn't venture out from under the tarp much, but everyone had a great time anyway. I made fire with a bowdrill for the first time, and we carved some spoons. We're currently planning another trip at the end of May.
