In 1968 Dr. Huevelmans found an exhibit in a state fair called the Minnesota Iceman. On looking closely at the specimen, buried in a block of ice, Dr. Huevelmans became convinced that it was no crude hoax as he had expected. The more he looked at it, the more convinced he became. On a subsequent visit he even succeeded in scraping away some of the ice where the creature inside was not buried so deeply, and said that the creature smelled of fresh meat.. As shown on the photograph, the creature had a smian appearance, not unlike an artist’s impression of an early hominid.
The exhibit’s owner, Frank Hansen became alarmed by Dr. Huevelman’s interest, and he disposed of the iceman, claiming that it had been a fake all along. Interestingly the Smithsonian Institute then came out and said that they were aware of Hansen’s iceman, and were satisfied that it was a fake. Lovers of conspiracy theories should take note. Hansen was with special forces in Vietnam,. The jungles of Vietnam are as likely a place as any for a previously unknown creature to be hiding. Huevelmans remarked that he believed he could discern bullet holes, as if the creature had been shot. The creature could then have been smuggled back to the USA in a body bag.All highly illegal, hence Hansen’s anxiety. But what incentive would there be for the World- Respected Smithsonian have to back up his story ? Unless, by some chance , they now have possession of the carcase of a creature previously unknown to Science ?- -A much more detailed version of the story can be read here.- |
