Does Bigfoot hunt? is a debate that has different opinions among
different people. For an animal as large as a bigfoot to have
such a large size and maintain such a finely trimmed body, it must
obtain high levels of protein. Leaf eating primates like the spider
monkey, orangutan and gorilla [along with some others] eat primarily
leaf matter and all have large stomachs, which are required to process
the food. Bigfoot on the other hand, has a trim, muscular build
which would not be characteristic of a leaf eater that size. Leaves
are also scarce in a lot of bigfoot habitat during winter months. Because
Bigfoot has a small, primate nose it probably wouldn't have a tremendous sense of
smell and would thus be an average scavenger. So bigfoot must hunt. What does
it hunt? Witnesses have seen bigfoot carrying large animals such as deer
and with smaller animals and fish and shellfish. In my opinion, the larger
animals bigfoot hunt are deer and possibly elk. When one pictures a huge,
heavy animal such as bigfoot running down a fast, graceful animal like
a deer, they think it would be impossible. This is not the case. Chimpanzees
are very successful hunters of Colobus monkeys. The colobus are faster and
more agile in the trees, yet the chimps are still successful. Why couldn't
the the same be true for bigfoot? Deer are wary, but not very smart animals
and with some stealth and cunning, bigfoot could easily make a meal out of deer.
You may ask though, is it really worth going through all the trouble to catch
a deer? especially for an animal that needs to retain high levels of energy?
Well catching deer, at least for bigfoot, is a relatively low energy occupation. Check
out each method for ways a bigfoot may hunt deer.
