Astral Vampires Astral vampires can be listed in many forms, but are most commonly referred to in a spirit or ghostly state. Even described as wraiths or poltergeists. Because science has not evolved a way to prove the existence of such creatures we are forced to rely on our own observations and theories. Nothing here should be relied upon as fact, but simply the theory and observations of said researchers.
Human Living Vampires (HLV): Astral Vampires The term 'astral' is most commonly used by spiritualists or occultists when referring to the 'astral body' which they define as the etheric body that serves as the vehicle of a person's life energy, which is different to the physical body in which it is connected. It is explained that the astral body wanders the astral plane only at night, while the person is sleeping. This is also said to be the sign or vessel of hidden desires or longings. The astral body is said to linger long after the end of the physical body and can often wander the physical world in the form of a ghost, apparition, or under rare circumstances a vampire. It is the astral plane that there are said to be inhabited by evil beings capable of taking over someone's astral body and compelling him or her to do evil things such as vampiric acts. Similar to this theory is the belief that a strong enough being from the astral plane is capable of entering a dead body and reanimating it. This new vampire then feeds the spirit within with blood. The noted supernaturalist Adolphe d'Assier had a differing view, arguing that vampires were actually astral beings that wandered about, drank blood, and then, by some unknown process, transferred the blood back to the body, which never left the coffin. The official 'church' declared that vampires were either demons inhabiting a body, or the spirit of an wicked person that had returned. Because of the way a astral vampire is said to feed from its victims in a 'spirit' form this is very commonly included as a technique or ability of psychic vampires, and though this may possibly be one of their talents we will separate them into a different category.
