Dear Membership Services,

As sincere seekers of Truth, please cancel our Membership to the Organization of Eckankar. Kindly remove our names completely from your operating system. We do not want to have anything to do with your organization.

The feelings of terror, which we and some of our friends experienced when we began to closely examine the foundations of Eckankar, was proof enough that we have separated from a group which has at its base a very subtle yet powerful force of mind control. In fact, two people that we know, considered suicide because they felt so deeply betrayed by Eckankar and its leaders.

It is our sincere hope that the leaders of your organization find the integrity and humility to answer questions from sincere seekers with all honesty. Then perhaps, these people will be spared the "psychic terrorism" that many former members have gone through when they "questioned" or "doubted" the Master.

Our belief is that many Eckists, most importantly, those in leadership positions, are simply not aware of the Truth of Eckankar's past and the source for its teachings. Specifically, how pure teachings from Shabd Yoga, have been corrupted and combined with mind control techniques taken from Scientology to market Eckankar, and bring in tens of millions of dollars. Your organization does not meet its own criteria of "not encroaching on other persons or their properties." It is public knowledge, and in our opinion, disgraceful that Eckankar is making huge sums of money from other people's work and not even giving them credit, let alone compensation for it. Furthermore, it is such hypocrisy, for Harold Klemp to discourage his following from litigation, when in fact Eckankar has filed numerous lawsuits, under his leadership.

We suggest sincere seekers get a hold of The Path of the Masters, by Julian Johnson, to appreciate a spiritual path which is not a religion or a cult but simply a very disciplined method to liberation, which does not cost a penny.

Moral excellence is the very foundation of any true spiritual path. Deceit, plagiarism and cover ups simply cannot co-exist in the higher regions of God. It is a travesty to think so. We cannot help feeling as though the leaders of Eckankar, past and present, have been deliberately playing on our desires of earnest spiritual liberation. Mr. Klemp, how can you profess to take souls into the true regions of God, when you cannot even tell your "chelas" the truth? Do you honestly believe, you have the ability to do so?

Members of your organization, through their donations, support the staff, its leader and the organization in its entirety. Members have a right to know the whole Truth about Eckankar and deserve nothing less. They are paying your way.

Please find enclosed our letters of March 27th and March 29th, that we wrote to Mr. Klemp in all sincerity. We arranged to have our letters hand delivered to Mr. Klemp through Resa services. As of yet, we have not had the courtesy of a response. And when inquiries about the information on the Net were made through our Resa, we were told the official response is "No response." On April 29th, We followed up on our letters with a phone call to Mr. Klemp's personal secretary to address, these most pressing issues, especially since we had just heard from a "higher intiate" friend who was deeply disturbed and feeling betrayed. Sadly, the unofficial fax response to our call, simply referred us to quotes from Mr. Klemp's books, which in no way addressed the issues in question.

We realize, that our experiences may not have been the leaders' intentions. And that on some level, it is all a part of our karma. However, the fact remains that many sincere seekers are examining the fraudulent roots of Eckankar. We hope that your organization is compassionate enough to make proper provisions for such enquiries. In particular, we hope you have the decency to be forthright with newcomers. It is only a matter of time before someone goes to the media with this.

We want to acknowledge the fact that our Resa, (NAME removed) has demonstrated the highest of moral standards, integrity, courage and sincerity while dealing with these most insidious issues. But let's face it, it is not her responsibility. It is up to the leadership of Eckankar to rectify these gross spritual violations, as graciously as possible.
