Unwanted Entrapment
Part One
“The news isn’t good, Cheetara,” Dr. Hurst said grimly.
Cheetara sat on the exam table nervous. Her hands gripped the table tightly at the worse possibility for her. She
knew she should’ve went to the doctor sooner but with the destruction and reformation of Thundera, there wasn’t
time to have these type of tests done until now. “What’s the result?”
Dr. Hurst sighed, deciding to give her good news before the fatal blow. “Physically you are in great health except
when it comes to your ovaries. Being a cheetah, you will have fertility issues and with your family history of
trouble conceiving, things aren’t looking good for you. I’m sorry but at the rate you’re on, you’ll be infertile
by twenty-eight. If you’re lucky, thirty.”
“Twenty-eight?” Cheetara gasped. “But I’m only twenty-six.”
“I’m sorry. We tested every outcome and it remains the same. You peaked at twenty-two and your fertility has been
going downhill ever since. Your best chance for having children is to start now. According to the charts, you will
become fertile in two weeks.”
“I understand, Dr. Hurst and thank you. I hope you will remain discreet on this matter,” Cheetara said hoping the
doctor understood her hint.
The doctor nodded. “Of course. I know this is a highly private matter, especially of a woman in your position.”
****
Cheetara flew home in the ThunderClaw on the verge of crying. She couldn’t cry, not now, not when she could be
seen. Besides, crying wouldn’t solve anything. It was time for action. If she want a child, she would have to act
now. For years, Cheetara wanted a baby. It was the one thing she wanted most than being a ThunderCat. Unfortunately,
as a ThunderCat, she didn’t have time for a private life that included a boyfriend. When that became abundantly
clear, Cheetara thought about resigning from her duties as a ThunderCat, but Thundera’s destruction was near and
there was no time to think about herself.
Even landing on Third Earth allowed her no time to think about herself. She was busy with rebuilding the ThunderCats
lives and preparing Lion-O for his role as Lord of the ThunderCats. When Panthro built the recorder, there was
talk of Lion-O needing an heir. Naturally, everyone assume it would be Cheetara, but the talk was only talk.
Now she waited too late to have a child the normal way and desperation crept into her with a vengeance as her biological
clock drew to a close. Desperate times called for desperate measures. Marriage was out of the question. It’ll probably
take her two years alone to find the right guy, date and marry him with her busy schedule and time wasn’t on her
side. Cheetara didn’t need a husband. She could raise the child perfectly on her own. All she had to do was size
up the potential father and have a one night stand with him on her most fertile night. It sounded simple enough
but Cheetara knew the task would be difficult for her. She never been close to anyone much less than have a one
night stand, but to have this child, she was willing to do it.
Cheetara landed the ThunderClaw in the hangar. The warm heat in the hanger was a welcome to the cool air outside.
Panthro, who was working on the Thundertank, smiled and waved at her before resuming his work. Panthro was a fairly
attractive ThunderCat. Strong, well fit, kind of short since she was taller than him. He had a temper, but he was
strong minded, a man who could take charge and he was older. If he fathered her child, he would want a commitment
from her and have a part in the child’s life. Cheetara didn’t want to interfere in his life. So, that was a no.
Cheetara waved back and left the room. In the hallway, she met Tygra. He talked with her wanting her assistant
in his experiment with the plant life on Thundera. As he rambled on about his latest project, Cheetara thought
about him as a potential father. He was an attractive ThunderCat, intelligent but he was susceptible to spells
too easily. He was also quick to give up but he was level headed, mature. Still, if he fathered her child, he would
force a commitment on her and want involvement with the child. No, she couldn’t do that to him. She agreed to meet
him in the lab later and continued down the hall. She entered the Control Room and found Bengali and Lynx-O working.
Both men were a definite no. Bengali was involved with Pumyra and Lynx-O, well he was too old and Cheetara couldn’t
see herself sleeping with him. She said hello and left the room.
Waiting for the elevators to open, Cheetara thought of her situation. It didn’t seem like there were any potential
donors for Cheetara in Cat‘s Lair. She‘ll have to look elsewhere. Perhaps, there were potential fathers at the
cheetah village nearby. The elevator doors opened and Lion-O stepped off. He greeted her and openly talked about
his date today with a new girl Leela. Sometimes it was hard to keep up with the many women he dated, but somehow
she managed to remember each one. The relationships never lasted long and Cheetara could never figure if Lion-O
had commitment issues or if the women weren’t right for him.
Lion-O was very attractive. There was no denying that. Cheetara knew it the moment she saw him when he came out
of the suspension capsule on Third Earth. He was young, energetic, intelligent, a strong leader and brave. There
weren’t many faults. He was quick temper when it came to his pride, but he was passionate about his role as Lord
of the ThunderCats and the Code of Thundera. He was younger than her. Physically, he was twenty-four. Mentally,
that was hard to say since he was very mature even as a child. He had so much to deal with and handle it better
than anyone expected. With his youth and his attempt to date every available woman on the planet, he wasn’t looking
to settle down anytime soon. If he fathered her child, he would gladly let her take care of the baby alone and
keep it quiet. He was the perfect candidate. In fact, he was the only one.
Cheetara smiled, remembering Lion-O’s attraction to her in the early years he was Lord of the ThunderCats. He never
said it but she knew. It wouldn’t be hard to convince him to bed her. He probably slept with all his dates and
see Cheetara as another notch on his belt. It would work out perfectly for her. Yes, Cheetara decided Lion-O would
be the one to father her child.
All she had to do was devised a clever plan where the two would be alone. It would require some underhandedness
and deception but Cheetara was willing to do anything to have a child at this point.
****
Cheetara raced into the hangar. The message was urgent, the signal was weak and if she didn’t act fast the Thunderians
calling in for help will die. Cheetara entered the Feliner, paying no attention to Lion-O parking his Hovercar.
Lion-O had been gone most of the afternoon as he was tied up with meetings from several Clan Elders.
Lion-O stepped out of his car, unzipping his large winter coat. “Cheetara, where are you going?” he asked puzzled.
Cheetara hardly noticed Lion-O entering the ship as she put on her warm cat suit. “To Mount Kenney. (Hee.Hee.)”
She quickly worked on putting on her heavy snow boots. “Two hikers are trap in the caverns.”
Lion-O was already zipping up his coat. There was no way he was letting Cheetara go without him. On his way home,
Lion-O noticed the visibility had worsen tenfold in the half hour it took him to leave the Panther Elders home
to return to Cat’s Lair. It was reported the nasty blizzard would cover from the treacherous Mount Kenney, the
Great Seven Lakes of Felis to Cat’s Lair--a good three hundred miles. “In this storm? It’s a nightmare out there.
I could barely see as I flew in. What were they doing out there?”
Cheetara zipped up her coat and sat in the pilot seat, flipping on various switches turning on the Feliner. The
engines purred and heat waft into the ship. “They wanted to get some hiking done before the blizzard hit but the
blizzard flew in fast.”
“I’m not letting you go by yourself. It’s too dangerous,” Lion-O declared. “Who’s here?” Lion-O asked aloud. “Bengali
and Panthro are at the Beacon Tower. With this storm, it’ll take them an hour to get here. Lynx-O and the twins
are in the lair. I’ll get them--”
“There’s no time,” Cheetara acknowledged as she buckled in. “Those hikers need us now.”
Cheetara was right. It was better for two to go now than waste time in bringing others. Lion-O got in his seat.
“All right. Take off then.”
The blizzard was at it’s heart at Mount Kenney. Since it was passing over the mountains before reaching Cat’s Lair,
it was three times worse than the storm Lion-O and Cheetara left at Cat’s Lair. The closer they got to the mountains,
the worse it was for the ThunderCats, slowing their journey to the dangerous Mount Kenney. Though the ThunderCats
faced dangers everyday due to their job, this mission was dangerous even for them. Lion-O was upset the hikers
were foolish to risk their lives for sport and even the ThunderCat lives to rescue them. This mission had Lion-O
on edge. If he had time, he would suggest bringing Panthro instead of Cheetara even though she was the ThunderCats
best pilot.
Using heat sensors from the Feliner, Cheetara picked up the two Thunderians in the mountain. Lion-O lowered himself
down the mouth of the mountain while Cheetara monitored him from the Feliner. Once Lion-O got his footing inside
Mount Kenney, Lion-O searched the caves where the heat sensors picked up the Thunderians.
“Hello!” Lion-O called out. Silence. “It’s the ThunderCats. We’ve come to rescue you!” Lion-O rubbed his arms.
Though he was wearing his heavy winter coat, freezing temperatures were seeping inside his coat, his teeth started
chattering. If he was starting to feel the cold, the Thunderians had to be freezing having been trapped her for
over an hour. “If you’re alive, please respond!”
When no one responded, Lion-O feared the worst and walked further into the cave, going deeper into the mountain.
Then, before he could act, the ground beneath him gave away, sending Lion-O plunging down the cave. Lion-O pulled
out his sword and attempt to use it to slow his fall, but tearing his hand against a jagged edge cause Lion-O to
release his sword, sending Lion-O deeper in the colder caverns of Mount Kenney.
Cheetara was already having a tough time, keeping the Feliner steady in the air with the hurricane force winds
of the blizzard, fought with Cheetara, but hearing Lion-O’s cry through her earpiece, forced Cheetara to take immediate
action. She lowered the Feliner to what she hoped was a sturdy spot on the mountain, grabbed her pack loaded with
a medical bag, mountain gear and rations. She stepped out into the cold. The strong winds nearly knocked Cheetara
over and the cold was seeping through her coat. Frost covered her eyelashes and lips and though her body ordered
her to retreat to the warm Feliner, Cheetara knew she had to go forward. Lion-O was in trouble. Using her pick
and ax, Cheetara climbed up the mountain to where Lion-O entered. Tying rope to the pick, which was heavily lodged
into the snow, Cheetara climbed down. Once Cheetara got her footing, Cheetara carefully walked around the cave.
When she came to the spot where Lion-O had fallen through, Cheetara pulled tied rope to the ax and lodge the ax
in a sturdy spot and climbed down. She saw blood on a jagged edge of rock and climbed down faster, worried about
Lion-O’s safety.
When Cheetara saw Lion-O as she neared the bottom, she noticed she was running out of rope. Lion-O held his hands
out to catch her so Cheetara took the chance and jumped into Lion-O’s arms.
“Are you all right?” Cheetara asked as Lion-O lowered her to the ground. She saw his bloodied right hand. The sharp
edges of the rock tore through his glove and his skin, leaving a nasty cut down his right hand. “You’re hurt!”
“It’s nothing. We got bigger problems.” He gestured behind him where two dummies were leaning against the cavern.
“There are light sticks in the dummies blankets. With the storm being so nasty, the sensors in the Feliner mistakenly
picked that up. It wasn’t the blizzard that prevent you from picking up a visual at the lair, Cheetara. Whoever
did this, intentionally left a recorded message for you to pick up. I haven’t seen anything like this since the
Lunataks tricked us in Crystal Canyon. It’s either a stupid prank by some cubs or a deadly trick.”
Cheetara stared at the dummies dressed warmly with two thick blankets wrapped around them then back at an angry
Lion-O. “Mumm-Ra?” Cheetara guessed.
“It’s possible but we haven’t seen him in months. After he escaped the Book of Omens, he has remained in seclusion.
It gets worse.” He pulled out his communicator. “I can’t get a signal out.”
“It could be the cave and the blizzard. It’s so nasty out there.” Cheetara noticed the empty claw shield at Lion-O’s
thigh. “Where’s the Sword of Omens?”
“I dropped it when I fell and cut my hand on the rocks.” He looked upward. “I tried to summon it but it won’t respond.”
“Mount Kenney is known to have Thundrainium.” Cheetara looked around the solid wall of ice they were trapped in.
“Since it will be hard to escape going up, we should try knocking one of these walls down.”
Lion-O shook his head. “I wouldn’t risk it. It could cause a cave in. Our best chance is to go up.”
“All right,” Cheetara agreed. “But let me fix your hand first.” Cheetara pulled out the medical bag from her pack.
It was tough getting the remainder of Lion-O’s glove off his hand thanks to the coldness of the room. Cheetara
quickly cleaned the would in his hand and covered it with a thick bandage, which left Lion-O with no choice but
to keep the glove off. Once he was patched up, Cheetara said, “I could use my staff to get us out of here.” Cheetara
pulled out her staff and extended it through the hole Lion-O fell through. Lion-O wrapped his arms securely around
Cheetara‘s waist and the two went up.
Halfway up, the caverns rumbled and buckets of heavy white snow fell onto the ThunderCats. Cheetara tightened her
hold on the staff and Lion-O tightened his hold on her. Both determined to keep going. Their hope wasn’t enough
as more heavy snow fell on them. Each lost their grip and fell several feet below. Lion-O quickly grabbed hold
of Cheetara and made sure she was on top of him as they fell. If they were going to be hurt in the fall, Lion-O
preferred to take the brunt of the pain. Lucky for them, the first snow that fell on Lion-O and Cheetara cushioned
their fall as the two collapsed on each other.
Cheetara was sprawled over Lion-O. She was content to stay there and rest a little longer but Lion-O’s groan caused
Cheetara to rise slowly, early straddling Lion-O. She tried to get up but winced as she felt a pull on her ankle.
Perhaps she went to far with this.
Lion-O noticed Cheetara grabbing her left ankle. He sat up carefully, securing his hands around Cheetara’s waist.
“Are you hurt?”
“I think I sprain my ankle in that fall.”
Lion-O frowned. “That‘s my fault. I thought I was helping by taking most of the fall.”
“It’s not your fault,” Cheetara told him softly. “You didn’t think this was going to happen. How’s your back?”
“It’s fine. We better wait until the storm passes before we try that escape route again,” Lion-O advised. “I don’t
want to risk falling again with you injured.”
“I could use my telekinetic powers to float us out of here,” Cheetara suggested.
“No,” Lion-O said firmly. “You’re injured and I don’t want you using too much of your strength. You need your energy
to recovered from your injury.”
Lion-O took Cheetara’s staff and gathering what little rocks and sticks he could find, created a fire. Heat slowly
waft in the cold cavern. Lion-O took the medical bag Cheetara brought with her and opened it. Carefully, he removed
Cheetara’s boot and wrapped the ankle in a bandage.
An hour passed and Lion-O tried over and over trying to communicate with to Cat’s Lair but the signal was dead.
“No one’s responding.”
“They must know we’re in trouble but can’t reach us because of the storm, Lion-O. Only the Feliner was equipped
to handle this storm. They could use the Thunder Strike but that would put the others in danger,” Cheetara explained
reasonably as she heat up food she brought with her over the fire. “Give it some time.”
He looked at her ankle worried. “You don’t have time. You need medical attention.”
“So do you,” she gestured to his hand. “I have a sprain, Lion-O. It’s not broken. Come sit and eat. I warmed up
our rations. We should keep our energy up if we’re gonna get by this night.”
The wind howled above them and the fire shivered, temporarily shrinking before growing again. It reminded Lion-O
of the situation they were in. After eating their food, Lion-O he went back at trying to contact the ThunderCats
again. The signal was still dead. Lion-O tried climbing out of the cave but he couldn’t get a good grip and the
ice was so cold, just sticking his clothes to the ice walls was like sticking a tongue to a pole.
When his claw shield couldn’t get a good grip outside the cavern, Lion-O threw his claw shield upward. Once it
hook on something above, Lion-O climbed and a heavy blanket of snow fell on him, knocking Lion-O to the ground.
Lion-O couldn’t used Cheetara’s staff since it was keeping the fire going which blew out everywhere five minutes
thanks to the freezing cave. They were stuck for the night. Might as well get comfortable. Lion-O looked over to
Cheetara who was trying to make the best of the situation. She removed the thick blankets around the dummies and
used one as a cushioned for the hard ice ground and the other wrapped around herself, keeping warm. Cheetara the
dummies into the fire. It kept the cave warm, but Lion-O knew it wouldn’t last forever. It might not last them
into the night.
“This isn’t natural, Cheetara. I’ve tried everything I can think of and I can’t get us out of here. I feel like
we‘ve been set up.”
“It’s the storm, Lion-O,” Cheetara said holding out her hands to the fire. “We knew how dangerous it was coming
out here. It doesn’t make sense that we were set up. It looks more like a prank.”
“Maybe,” Lion-O said sitting on the blanket beside her. “But I still can’t shake this feeling.”
“We have more problems,” Cheetara said looking at her staff. “My power is running low. It will have to recharge
soon.”
“If it runs out, we won’t have any heat once the fire go out,” Lion-O said, worried. “What will we do?”
“We’ll have to keep warm somehow. The temperature in the cavern can drop below zero even with a fire,” Cheetara
explained. “I burned up the dummies and the remaining clothes they had. It should keep us warm. I’m not sure if
it will all night. I’ll keep using my staff until the energy is out and when it does, we could keep warm by sleeping
close,” Cheetara suggested. “Our body heat will keep us warm.”
Lion-O looked doubtful of the idea. When Cheetara was sprawled over him, he liked the feelings evoke in him. He’ll
have to keep control of himself but Cheetara was right. They will need to use their body heat to keep warm. “All
right,” Lion-O agreed.
“We should rest now,” Cheetara said laying down. “We’ll have more energy in the morning.”
Lion-O agreed quietly as he laid beside, leaving a few inches between them. Cheetara had her back to him as Lion-O
allowed Cheetara to use his left arm as a pillow and covered himself with the remainder of the blanket. They spent
the next few hours talking. Occasionally, Lion-O would rub Cheetara’s arm generating some heat for her. Neither
could sleep, not with the howling winds of the cavern above them, the coldness of the room and the dwindling heat
from the fire. Lion-O feared if they fell asleep they wouldn’t wake up.
With Cheetara’s staff, they had at least another two hours of heat, three if they were lucky and then the coldness
would set it drastically. It already felt like twenty degrees. Who knows how bad it would get once the cave was
completely cold. Cheetara suddenly rolled over. “This isn’t working. Are you still cold, Lion-O?”
“Yeah, but I can tolerate it. How about you?” He rubbed her arm.
“Still cold. There has to be another way to keep warm,” Cheetara said. Disappointment set in as Lion-O looked lost
for ideas. She would have to take action for anything to happen. She calculated everything except her injury. Still,
it was working to her advantage. Tonight was her most fertile night and if this didn’t work, she would have to
try something else. Something that won’t kill them for sure. “Maybe…maybe we have to be closer.”
Lion-O didn’t follow Cheetara. “We’re already close.” Cheetara moved closer, slipping a leg between his and wrapping
her arms around him. Lion-O looked awkward as he heat spread across his cheeks. “This…this is close.”
Cheetara moved closer until their entire bodies were touching. Lion-O looked uncomfortable and not a male ready
to take advantage of the situation he was in. “It’s close, but I’m not warming up.” Cheetara looked away for a
moment. Could she do this? Could she seduce Lion-O? Yes, for a child she would do it. She came this far. Why stop
now? “There’s another way to keep warm.” Before Lion-O could speak, Cheetara kissed him. It wasn’t a quick peck
on the lips but a deep kiss that sent heat generating through his body.
Lion-O kissed back, running his hands up and down Cheetara’s back through her thick coat. Cheetara maneuvered Lion-O’s
hands to where she wanted him to touch her. With Lion-O squeezing and softly kneading, she moaned softly This prompted
Lion-O’s lower region to respond and Lion-O to jerk back. “Cheetara, I don’t think we should do this.”
Cheetara’s heart pounded her ribcage and her breathing came in heavy gasps. No! He can’t stop now. Not when she
was this close! “I was… warmed up by that kiss. Weren’t you?”
“Yes, but---”
“This is a desperate situation, Lion-O,” Cheetara stated caressing his face. “We have to keep warm if we’re to
survive the night. Don’t you want to keep warm?”
“Yes, but--”
Cheetara silenced him with another kiss, nibbling his lower lip gently before pulling away. She caught the look
in his eyes; the sizzling desire. He didn’t want her to stop. “Then what’s wrong with us kissing to keep warm?
It’s just kissing.”
Lion-O shook his head, still refusing to give in, though his resolve wasn’t as strong as before. “We’re not involve
with each other.”
“It’s to survive, Lion-O,” Cheetara urged gently. She smiled coyly at him. “I won’t tell if you won’t.” She moved
closer to nibble his ear while running her hands over him.
Lion-O felt his will weaken. Cheetara was right and he was being foolish. They were only keeping warm, but a part
of him told Lion-O this wasn‘t right. There were other ways for them to keep warm. Then again, another side of
him wanted to kiss Cheetara. Actually, he wanted more with Cheetara. He had for a very long time. Now the opportunity
presented itself. He shouldn’t throw it away. Lion-O kissed Cheetara back and rolled her under him. Their kisses
deepened as their needs grew. While Lion-O nibbled Cheetara’s neck, he growled softly which stimulated Cheetara.
Soon she was working to remove the top of his cat suit. She smiled feeling Lion-O working to remove her cat suit,
too.
Lion-O grabbed her hands, stopping her. What was going on? How did they get from kissing to this? “Cheetara, we
shouldn’t do this. Look at us. Moments ago we were only kissing. Now we‘re taking each other’s clothes off.”
Must she do everything herself! What kind of guy turns a woman down when she’s throwing herself at him? “We shouldn’t
but it’s the only way we can keep warm in the night unless you know of another way.” Cheetara pressed against him,
pleased to feel his body reacting. She kissed him again, but this time felt Lion-O shaking in his eyes. Pulling
back, she search his eyes for an explanation. “What’s the matter?”
Lion-O blushed embarrassed. “I’ve never done this before,” he admitted shyly.
Cheetara was stunned. “You haven’t? But all the women you dated…”
“I didn’t sleep with them,” he said angry by her suggestion. “Give me some credit, Cheetara. They weren’t interesting
and I dropped them before it went too far.”
Cheetara knew she offended Lion-O just now and if she wasn’t careful, he would be turn off by the idea of mating
with her. She couldn’t let that happen. She desperately wanted to get pregnant. “I’m sorry. I misunderstood. If
it makes you feel any better, I haven’t been with anyone either.”
Desire flickered in Lion-O’s eyes, but then his reasoning took over. “Cheetara, we’re friends. Good friends. We
shouldn’t ruin our relationship over this.”
Cheetara placed her fingers on his lips. “I understand your feelings, Lion-O and you’re my closest friend, too.
We won’t ruin our relationship over this. I trust you more than anyone else. I would never do this with anyone
but you.”
“Really?” Lion-O was surprised and touched by Cheetara’s admission.
“I know you will never take advantage of me or exploit this. I applaud you for trying to stop us, but we have no
choice.” She licked his upper lip before slipping her tongue inside his mouth for another sensual kiss. This time
she was the one to pull back. She almost smiled seeing the look on Lion-O’s face. She had him now. “Think of this
as a way to keep warm.” She nibbled on his lip before moving towards his neck, radiating the heat in him.
“To keep warm,” Lion-O said letting the words settle in him. Cheetara was already at work arousing him, touching
him and letting him touch her. “To keep warm,” he told himself and captured Cheetara’s lips with his own. There
were no more talking as they worked to remove the remainder of their clothes. Each took turns exploring each other
before Lion-O lowered himself on Cheetara to finally claim her. As Cheetara felt herself joined with Lion-O, she
knew this was the night Lion-O would conceive her child.
That naughty cheetah! Take me to Part Two!
