INDIAN(Carausius Morusus)

AVERAGE LENGTH:- 108mm

LIFE SPAN:- 1 year

FOOD PLANT:-Privet, bramble or ivy

SIZE OF EGG:-2mm(brown in colour)

This was my first stick insect, very good for handling and robust. Very prolific, so don't keep to many eggs, this species will lay up to 700 eggs in its lifetime and nearly all will hatch. Insects are usually green in colour(although I have bred nearly black ones)with red markings on front legs. This insect has a few names e.g. the laboratory stick insect, Carausius Morusus and the more familiar Indian. When the insect is alarmed it will drop to the floor like a "stick". Your collection wouldn't be complete without this insect. FOR THE BEGINNER!!!
