Lessons

[Istanbul]
We see a young woman running through the streets. She's being chased by cloaked figures. As she runs by a house the owns shuts his door, she runs into a dead end, but manages to get away from them by climbing up a drain pipe. She climbs up onto the roof and then when she reaches the peak, she's caught by one of them. He pushes her off the roof, then another holds her down, and a third draws a knife and stabs her.

[Vampire raising from grave]
It's Buffy giving Dawn the: "It's about power" speech. She tosses a stake to Dawn.
[Buffy] You're a little girl.
[Dawn] Woman.
[Buffy] Little woman.
[Dawn] I'm taller then you.
[Buffy] He's a vampire.
Has they argue the vamp struggles to get free. He then says he thinks he's stuck. Buffy pulls him out and sends him after Dawn. He advances on her, she stumbles and knock him into a tombstone, then stakes him... Well maybe not... She tries again but he takes control. He has the power after all... He get a hold of her and she looks for Buffy, but she's gone, the vamp moves into bite her, Dawn calls out for Buffy. Then Buffy takes over. Buffy kicks the vamps ass, then gets him with her sword. [Dawn] I planned to get killed, come back as a vampire, and bite you. Lesson: It's real. Buffy tells Dawn she did very well, and shares that her first time out she missed the heart too, but only once. Then they start talking about something sooo horrible...

[Really Big Scissors]
Time to cut the red ribbon. Sunnydale High, is now open for business... Again.

[Cut to Title]

[Westbury, England]
Giles is riding a horse, across a field. Then he walks up a hill toward Willow. She's sitting beside a tree looking downward. She then makes a flower bloom, which doesn't belong there, and Giles tells her so. Willow asks Giles if there is anything he doesn't know everything about. They talk about learning lessons, and the coven.
[Willow] I killed people, Giles. Willow's been learning about magic, energy, the earth, roots, gaea...

[Outside Buffy's]
Xander gets out of his brand new silver car, dressed in a suit, and sporting some nicely rolled design plans. I think it's a Ford... License: 3PCE187

[Inside]
[Buffy] Dawn! Xander's here. Buffy opens the door. [Buffy] I made cereal. [Xander] How exactly do you make cereal?
Buffy explains she saw it on the food channel. Xander asks how she is, and Buffy explains she's a little bit worried that Dawn's going to the same school that tried to kill her for three years. Xander whips out the plans and they take a look at them. Dawn shows up wearing a plaid top that just so happens to cover her neck. Xander shows all that he has the original plans as well. He then lines them up on the window and it shows that the Hellmouth, which was under the Library, is now under the Principle's Office. Oh time to go... Oh wait, the little girl's... I mean, little woman's back to school gift. [Dawn] it's a weapon, isn't it? [Buffy] yes it is. Dawn starts to open it.

[Sunnydale High]
Xander pulls up to the front, Buffy tells him she's going to take Dawn to class. Xander tells her, that he'll be around if she needs anything. As Buffy and Dawn are walking toward the entrance, Buffy give dawn the usual stay away from strangers speech... You know, stay away from henna people, you see anything strange, or dead... Or if you see any invisible people... [Buffy] This place is evil. Enter the Principal: black, tall, glasses, sporting a goatee... He introduces himself to them: Robin Wood, Principal. So Buffy introduces herself and Dawn. Wood, thinks Buffy's Dawn's mother.
[Buffy] It's my hair. I have mom hair. Dawn heads off to class.

[Inside the School]
Buffy's checking out the place. Suddenly a basketball slams up against the lockers right in front of her. The ball bounces back to a hand on the other side of the wall. Buffy checks it out, see a teenager, turn the corner. She follows him around the corner, but he's gone. Buffy walks past a door with a sign saying: "Basement - No Student Access."

[Dawn's Class]
The teacher makes them do the most fun thing ever... 'Let's go around the room and tell everyone a little about yourselves.'

[Bathroom]
Buffy enters, and walks over to the mirror, to check her hair. [Buffy to herself] It's not mom hair. She goes to wash her hands, then notices an odd item and picks it up. Then a zombie chick appears and babbles about not being protected, and disappears. Then suddenly a zombie guy appears and yells, startling Buffy.

[Dawn's Class]
Dawn's telling the class about herself. Then Buffy runs in shouting her name. Time to go it's not safe... Oh wait, sorry, nevermind leaves. [Dawn] I also have a sister.

[A Cafe]
Anya and Halfrek are having coffee. Halle tells Anya everyone thinks she's gone soft. Halle tells Anya that something is raising, something older than the older ones. Anya asks if this is an intervention, and shouldn't all her demon friends be there? Halle just answers with, they are.

[Sunnydale High - Science Building]
Xander's working, and Buffy arrives with bad news. Xander asks if the school passed inspection. [Buffy] Oh it's great if you're a zombie ghost thing. They talk about it a little.

[Dawn's Class]
The guy next to Dawn asks to borrow a pencil. Dawn gets him out one, then hands it to him and his gone all zombie-like and thrusts the pencil into her eye. She screams and falls to the ground. The class turns and looks at her. The teacher asks if she's alright. Dawn makes up a story about a bee flying into her eye, then asks to go to the bathroom.

[Bathroom]
Dawn goes into a stall and sits down, then she hears someone crying. She gets up and knells down and looks under the doors for feet, but sees none. She then slowly checks each stall.

[Hallway]
Buffy runs into Wood. He asks why she's still there, to which she answers, she's just trying to get the feel of the campus, to make sure it's safe.

[Bathroom]
She runs across a girl, crying. Dawn asks what's wrong, and she says someone's in there.

[Hallway]
Wood tells Buffy he's knows more about her then he let on.

[Bathroom]
Dawn says they should get out of there, and maybe get some air. She introduces herself, and finds out the girl's name: Kit. Dawn asks if she saw something scary, Kit says she wouldn't believe her, Dawn says try me. Then sparks fly as two Zombies appear. The girls scream, and then Dawn motions for them to escape. As they try to do so, they are grabbed at by the ankles and pulled to the basement.

[Westbury, England]
Giles is telling Willow to breathe. She's struggling, she feels the Earth, deep black, it's teeth, the Hellmouth. It's going to open and swallow them up.

[Basement]
Dawn and Kit find themselves in a bit of a fix.

[Hallway]
Wood informs Buffy he's read her file.

[Basement]
Dawn and Kit, run into a guy, named Carlos. He explains that he came down there to smoke, and a guy started yelling at him, but he realized he was normal, and ran like a girl. The three zombies surround them. Dawn whips out her present.... It's a weapon... A cell phone?

[Hallway]
Saved by the cell phone. Dead dogs? [Dawn] Isn't this reception amazing? I'm in the frickin' basement. Buffy says she has to... She runs off.

[Basement]
Dawn says helps on the way. Where? Grabs her throat Buffy - Bathroom - Hole - Basement. She wanders around looking for Dawn, calls out to her, then calls her on the cell. A zombie answers the call. The zombies start telling her how they died, blah, blah, blah... Buffy notices they are standing in front of a door. Buffy fights them all, and gets to the door. They pull her away from the door. Buffy gets away again and runs to the door, it opens... It's Spike, and he's not looking to good, and his hair... Oh boy. [Buffy] Spike? Are you real? Spike laughs, then stops, reaches out and touches her face, then says duck. Buffy doesn't get it and gets whacked on the back of the head. She fights them off again, and then gets in Spike's room and closes the door, locking it.

[Spike's]
manifest spirits raised to seek vengeance, controlled by a talisman.
