Good evening my fellow Americans.
First, I want to pass on my condolences to the people of New York and all Americans that are hurting in this tragic time. You can rest assured that anything and everything that can be done to assure the safety of our country will be done. This is the greatest country in the world and we will get through this trying time. Now is the time for all people to set aside our petty differences and show the world that no one or nothing can destroy the fortitude of the American people.
To the people responsible for today's tragedy, I say this:
Are you fucking kidding me? Are the turbans on your heads wrapped too tight? Have you gone too long without a bath? Do you not know who you are fucking with? Americans are so hungry to kill, that we shoot at each other every day. We will relish that opportunity for new targets for our aggression.
Have you forgotten history? What happened to the last people that started fucking around with us in our own country? Remember the little yellow bastards over in Japan?
We slapped them all over the Pacific and roasted about 2 million of them in their own back yard. That's what we in America call a big ass barbecue. Ever seen Texas on a map? Ever wonder why it's so big?
Because we wanted it that way, Mexico started jacking around with the Alamo and now they cut our lawns. England? We sent them packing.
Ask your buddy Saddam about fucking with the good 'ole USA. The only reason he got away the first time is because it's too hard to shoot someone when you're doubled over laughing at them. Our soldiers aren't trained to laugh and shoot at the same time. Now he couldn't stop a pack of cub scouts from taking over his shitty little country.
Trust us, Afghanistan will end up a giant kitty litter box. Go ahead and try to hide, Bin Laden. There's not a hole deep enough or a mountain high enough that's going to keep your camel riding asses safe. We will bomb every inch of the country that harbors him, his camps and any place that looks and even smells like he was there. Hell, we might even drop a few bombs on people that have pissed us off in the past. This is America. We kick ass. This is what we do. Go ahead and laugh now, but the Tomahawks are coming and we will smoke your sorry asses.

I've been hearing a lot of talk about "bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age." Ronn Owens, on KGO Talk Radio today, allowed that this would mean killing innocent people, people who had nothing to do with this atrocity, but "we're at war, we have to accept collateral damage.
What else can we do?"
Minutes later I heard some TV pundit discussing whether we "have the belly to do what must be done."
And I thought about the issues being raised especially hard because I am from Afghanistan, and even though I've lived here for 35 years I've never lost track of what's going on there. So I want to tell anyone who will listen how it all looks from where I'm standing.
I speak as one who hates the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. There is no doubt in my mind that these people were responsible for the atrocity in New York. I agree that something must be done about those monsters.
But the Taliban and Bin Laden are not Afghanistan. They're not even the government of Afghanistan. The Taliban are a cult of ignorant psychotics who took over Afghanistan in 1997. Bin Laden is a political criminal with a plan. When you think Taliban, think Nazis. When you think Bin Laden, think Hitler. And when you think "the people of Afghanistan" think "the Jews in the concentration camps."
It's not only that the Afghan people had nothing to do with this atrocity. They were the first victims of the perpetrators. They would exult if someone would come in there, take out the Taliban and clear out the rat's nest of international thugs holed up in their country.
Some say, why don't the Afghans rise up and overthrow the Taliban? The answer is, they're starved, exhausted, hurt, incapacitated, suffering.
A few years ago, the United Nations estimated that there are 500,000 disabled orphans in Afghanistan--a country with no economy, no food.
There are millions of widows. And the Taliban has been burying these widows alive in mass graves. The soil is littered with land mines, the farms were all destroyed by the Soviets. These are a few of the reasons why the Afghan people have not overthrown the Taliban.
We come now to the question of bombing Afghanistan back to the Stone Age.Trouble is, that's been done. The Soviets took care of it already.
Make the Afghans suffer? They're already suffering. Level their houses? Done. Turn their schools into piles of rubble? Done. Eradicate their hospitals? Done. Destroy their infrastructure? Cut them off from medicine and health care? Too late. Someone already did all that.
New bombs would only stir the rubble of earlier bombs. Would they at least get the Taliban? Not likely. In today's Afghanistan, only the Taliban eat, only they have the means to move around. They'd slip away and hide. Maybe the bombs would get some of those disabled orphans, they don't move too fast, they don't even have wheelchairs. But flying over Kabul and dropping bombs wouldn't really be a strike against the criminals who did this horrific thing. Actually it would only be making common cause with the Taliban--by raping once again the people they've been raping all this time So what else is there? What can be done, then? Let me now speak with true fear and trembling. The only way to get Bin Laden is to go in there with ground troops. When people speak of "having the belly to do what needs to be done" they're thinking in terms of having the belly to kill as many as needed. Having the belly to overcome any moral qualms about killing innocent people. Let's pull our heads out of the sand. What's actually on the table is Americans dying. And not just because some Americans would die fighting their way through Afghanistan to Bin Laden's hideout.
It's much bigger than that folks. Because to get any troops to Afghanistan, we'd have to go through Pakistan. Would they let us? Not likely. The conquest of Pakistan would have to be first. Will other Muslim nations just stand by? You see where I'm going. We're flirting with a world war between Islam and the West.
And guess what: that's Bin Laden's program. That's exactly what he wants.
That's why he did this. Read his speeches and statements. It's all right there. He really believes Islam would beat the west. It might seem ridiculous, but he figures if he can polarize the world into Islam and the West, he's got a billion soldiers. If the west wreaks a holocaust in those lands, that's a billion people with nothing left to lose, that's even better from Bin Laden's point of view. He's probably wrong, in the end the West would win, whatever that would mean, but the war would last for years and millions would die, not just theirs but ours. Who has the belly for that?

Since most of us are former military dependents -- and some have gone into the military yourselves - I thought you might like to see them.

We are finally back up on email this morning. Those of us here
at the Pentagon greatly appreciate all of the thoughts and
prayers from the many people that are, and have been, in our
lives. Please continue to pray.

All in the BRAC office are physically okay, and I believe are coping with this fairly well, emotionally and mentally. Our office is about half of a "side" of the building to the left (as you look from the outside) away from the site. The direct impact site was apparently the Army's Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel (DCSPER), LTG Maude's, office/conference room. The DCSPER office lost 20 people (to include LTG Maude), 3 contractors from Booz-Allen Hamilton, 2 individuals from Manpower and Reserve Affairs and 3 personnel from Personnel Command (PERSCOM) in Alexandria, all the latter of whom were meeting with the LTG at the time. The people who handled many of the day-to-day pay and travel accounts for the Army in the building, I have been told, are all gone. That section lost 35 personnel, mainly civilians.
The executive office of our higher up organization, the Assistant Chief of Staff for Installation Management (ACSIM) was very near DCSPER. Our ACSIM family lost MG Van Antwerp's personal secretary, Ms. Cheryle Sincock, and the Tasking Secretary, Ms. Sandra (Sandy) Taylor. (The loss of LTG Maude was an additional blow to the ACSIM family, because his wife Teri works in the U.S. Army Community and Family Support Center, a part of ACSIM.)
LTC Brian Birdwell, the Executive Officer to Ms. Menig, the Deputy ACSIM, was returning from the men's latrine when the fireball hit him. He is still at Washington Burn Center with 2nd and 3rd degree burns over 50-60% of his body. Please pray for him. He has had three or four skin graft operations already, is apparently doing very well, but as anyone knows regarding burn victims, things can change for the worse quickly. He was a former Program Manager like myself here in BRACO before being tapped to be Ms. Menig's XO.
In the last two days I have also learned that two other people that I used to see on a daily basis in Center Court and got to know fairly well over the last 18 months, are missing from the Navy side. A great number of Navy personnel were lost in that area.
The mood here is very upbeat in regard to the future. Many people here believe the country's leadership will do what needs to be done, the right way. Please pray for them as well because they need every prayer they can get. Regardless of politics, many of us here, and many others that I have spoken to, are very grateful that we have the President and First Lady we have at this time. He and she seem to be very much the right people that we need now, and up to the tasks at hand and ahead.
At the risk of moving away from my belief, as an officer serving in the United States Army, that it is an inherent duty of mine to ensure that my opinions in this general arena are not put out for public consumption, good or bad, regardless of who is in the White House, let me leave you with a small, but true story to give you an idea of the kind of man and the kind of woman we have in the White House right now. (I have condensed this story, so many of the details will hopefully be filled in sometime in the future by those who were actually there.)
As you may know, the President and Mrs. Bush visited the Washington Burn Center on Friday 14 September. Among those they visited was LTC Brian Birdwell, the XO to Ms. Menig, who was badly burned. Mrs. Bush went into Brian's room, spoke to him for about a minute, all the time as if they had been life-long acquaintances. She then turned to Brian's wife Mel, who at this time had been at the hospital for probably 2 1/2 days, and apparently according to Mel herself, was dirty, grimy and had blood on her shirt.
Mrs. Bush hugged Mel for what Mel said seemed like an eternity, just as if Mel were one of her closest family members. Mrs. Bush then told Brian and Mel that there was "someone" there to see him. The President then walked in, stood by Brian's bedside, asked Brian how he was doing, told him that he was very proud of them both and that they were his heroes. The President then saluted Brian.
Now, at this point in time, Brian is bandaged up pretty well. His hands are burned very badly as well as the back of him from the head down. His movements were very restricted. Upon seeing the President saluting him, Brian began to slowly return the salute, taking, from the accounts so far, about 15-20 seconds to get his hand up to his head. During all of this, 15-20 seconds, President Bush never moved, never dropped his salute. The President dropped his salute only when Brian was finished with his, and then gave Mel a huge hug for what also probably seemed like an eternity.
No further comments. Pray for our leadership. Thank God for what we are, have, and will be.

Dear Dad,
Well, we are still out at sea, with little direction as to what our next priority is. The remainder of our port visits, which were to be centered around max liberty and goodwill to the United Kingdom, have all but been canceled. We have spent every day since the attacks going back and forth within imaginary boxes drawn in the ocean, standing high-security watches, and trying to make the best of our time. It hasn't been that fun I must confess, and to be even more honest, a lot of people are frustrated at the fact that they either can't be home, or we don't have more direction right now. We have seen the articles and the photographs, and they are sickening.
Being isolated as we are, I don't think we appreciate the full scope of what is happening back home, but we are definitely feeling the effects.
About two hours ago the junior officers were called to the bridge to conduct shiphandling drills. We were about to do a man overboard when we got a call from the LUTJENS (D185), a German warship that was moored ahead of us on the pier in Plymouth England. While in port, the WINSTON S. CHURCHILL and the LUTJENS got together for a sports day/cookout on our fantail, and we made some pretty good friends. Now at sea they called over on bridge-to-bridge, requesting to pass us close up on our port side, to say good-bye. We prepared to render them honors on the bridgewing, and the Captain told the crew to come topside to wish them farewell. As they were making their approach, our Conning Officer announced through her binoculars that they were flying the American flag. As they came even closer, we saw that it was flying at half-mast. The bridgewing was crowded with people so the Boatswain's Mate blew two whistles - Attention to Port - the ship came up alongside and we saw that the entire crew of the German ship were manning the rails, in their dress blues. They had made up a sign that was displayed on the side that read "We Stand By You." Needless to say there was not a dry eye on the bridge as they stayed alongside us for a few minutes and we cut our salutes.
It was probably the most powerful thing I have seen in my entire life and more than a few of us fought to retain our composure.
It was a beautiful day outside today. We are no longer at liberty to divulge over unsecured e-mail our location, but we could not have asked for a finer day at sea. The German Navy did an incredible thing for this crew, and it has truly been the highest point in the days since the attacks. It's amazing to think that only a half-century ago things were quite different, and to see the unity that is being demonstrated throughout Europe and the world makes us all feel proud to be out here doing our job. After the ship pulled away and we prepared to begin our man overboard drills the Officer of the Deck turned to me and said, "I'm staying Navy."
I'll write you when I know more about when I'll be home, but for now, this is probably the best news that I could send you. Love you guys.

It is no surprise to Jackyl that these stations have the balls to search out, download and play this song of outrage. We have been contacted by several of these Stations to do interviews to help support their efforts to raise money for the Relief Funds. Every radio station is invited to utilize the song in any way that they can to raise money. Jackyl has no desire to benefit monetarily from this horrible event. We are sure that no one will have any derogatory comments when Michael Jackson, Elton John or Don Henley releases their more compassionate songs. This song is written in the key of ?ANGER? that such a thing can happen in this Country. It?s not directed toward any Religious Group or Race of People. It is directed toward those ?ASSHOLES? responsible.
As everyone that keeps up with us on a daily basis knows, we are currently in the Studio recording a new album. Even though we have almost completed the recording process it still takes at least three months minimum to get it on the shelf. Therefore, any claims that we are using this to be self promoting goes out the window. In five or six months we ?will? release an album and make no mistake at that time we will show our ?ASS?, both literally and figuratively in true disgusting cartoon?esque ?Rock and Roll? fashion, and be as self promoting as possible.
This song is not political, it is emotional. We will say that just as important as justice is the need for protection from this ever happening again. We cherish our Right and Freedom to make music, tour and rock, ?Loud, Proud, Hard and Honest? with everyone that comes out to our shows. We will continue to stay away from singing about Politics as well as campaigning for the NRA which we are sure everyone will now naturally join.
Debating is healthy. Keep the comments coming but be respectful and don?t hit below the belt. We will save that for the assholes.
