Stony Point forms the terminus of the line containing a fairly substantial station building. A loop exists at this station for locomotives to run around the carriages waiting at the platform. At Stony Point the train service forms an occasional connection to a ferry service which operates to French Island and Phillip Island. Once upon a time the train line continued for several hundred metres onto the Stony Point Pier.
