4th Annual Ravens Key Rebellion

The gates of the Raven open at three PM on Friday the 27th. Please call ahead if you wish to come earlier. The site will close at four PM, Sunday the 29th.

There will be a limited concession and pied piping available begining at four p.m.

Fighters will gather saturday morning at 10 a.m. for armor inspection. We would like everyone else to gather at the bardic at this time so we can start the contests and send the children to the pied piper.

Contests:

The siege weapon contest from last year is open again this year. For more details contact Lord Reynolds at innchaos@telus.net.

We will also be having a contest for best camp garb. Catagories are functionality, versatility and pleasing apperance. Men, women, and children will all be judged together. I hope you have fun thinking of clever and silly ways to camperize your garb.

An on-site cross stiching contest will also be held. Supplies will be provided. There are two categories. One is for a supplied pattern and one for an original pattern created by the entrant.

An on-site bardic compitition will have the following entry categories: song (period, original, filk,etc..), poem, juggling, tumbling, play(5 min max) or dancing (please provide your own music). Prizes will be awarded to the funniest, saddest and bravest. This contest will be judged by audience applause.

Pied Piper:

The Pied Piper services begin on friday with scenic rock painting during which each child will paint at least one rock and sign it. These will be the beginning of several lined paths.

Saturday morning before the fighting the smalls will paint a large banner for the castle. This is to take the place of the favours of previous years.

The children will attend a picnic lunch (supplied by the parents) with story time. They will be told stories and hopefully create their own to tell at bardic.

In the afternoon we will have another DRAGON hunt!!!!!

Saturday evening after the children come back from dinner with their parents, we will have a birthday party for the Raven's key raven, Kieran Ott. There will be party games and cake. This will be combined with the beginning of bardic.

Sunday the children will get a chance to do their Archery.

Fees for the Piper are $3/per child or $5/per family

Children under four yrs old must be accompanied at all times by an adult. Sign-up for the Pied Piper will be at the troll. Any children not on the Piper's list will be returned to their parents.

Sunday there will be a pancake breakfast for the fighters. Anyone else wishing to partake must pre-book. The fee (for non-fighters) will be $4. Mercenaries who fought for Ravens Key will be fed free.

Directions:

You take the New Island Highway until the Port Alberni turnoff. Travel along the Alberni Highway until you reach Port Alberni. Take the right fork into town (to the right of the tourist info center). Turn right at the first set of lights (Cherry Creek Road). Go along it until you reach Cowely Rd (across the road from a school). Follow it around until you reach Kitsuksis Rd. Turn right. Turn left at the next road (it is a dirt road). There will be signs posted. Please drive slowly once you are on private land.
