Q:
If scientists could link racial characteristics to genetics we all
would have heard about it by now. It would be the biggest story
of the century.
- A: The
answer to this question is very much the same as the one for
question five. So I will provide a link to that answer (HERE)
and otherwise summarize.
-
To assume that scientists operative in a bias-free zone of pure
rational thought is to assume incorrectly. Scientists are
influenced by media, society, friends, peers and employers as much
as anyone else.
-
First, the question is an unlikely one because as soon as any
educational or research institution discovered one of its members
doing research into racial differences in behavior, criminality,
IQ, etc. That scientist's job would be in danger.
Second, the person making the above statement assumes the public
would immediately believe the scientist's findings; they would
not. Third, more than the scientist's findings, his motives
would be questioned. Fourth, history demonstrates that
scientists who research politically incorrect subjects become
targets of political pressure groups, activists, and
demonstrators.
-
In short, scientific proof is of racial characteristics is not the
biggest story of the century because there are few who wish it so.
