Currently, there are two Paulsboro High School graduates competing on a collegiate level. Surprisingly, both compete at the highest level of competition - Division I. Matt Hunckler, c/o 1999, is a junior at George Mason University. He has been a starter for the last two seasons. As a sophmore, Hunckler had close to 30 matches, won a CAA gold medal, and earned a trip to the NCAAs, in which he came away with a victory. Hunckler has his goals set high, and hopes to be an All-American come March.
Scott Garren, c/o 1999, is a junior at North Carolina State University. He has started every year of his collegiate career and has racked up a 36-13 career record. As a sophmore, Scott had wins over No. 8 Ian Nelms of Bakersfield and No. 3 Steve Blackford of Arizona State. Unfortunately, Scott is redshirting this year due to a major knee injury that occured last year. Hopefully, we will see Scott competing for a national title when he returns for his 2002-2003 season.
