Another year and another exciting wrestling season for Paulsboro High School. Many look upon this years team as a team with experience, a team with talent. Optimistic fans know this year's team will come away with an unblemished record and march on to another ranking of #1 in New Jersey. Others hope that this year's team can overshadow the two critical losses and the #4 ranking in New Jersey of the 2000-2001 wrestling team.

Paulsboro returns four promising seniors. Each came into the Varsity program as a freshman four years ago and took part in the dethroning of Phillipsburg's #1 ranking in 1999. Well those four freshman are now seniors and will shoot high in their final high school campaign. Ryan O'Hara(returning District 29 Champion, Region 8 runner-up, and State-quarterfinalist), James Funk(returning District 29 Champion, 3rd in Region 8, and 6th in NJ), Mike Mendenhall(returning Distrtict 29 Champion, Region 8 runner-up, and 3rd in NJ), and Tom Curl(District 29, Region 8, and NJ Champion) will look to lead this years' squad to a shining finish. Each hope to help add another #1 in NJ ranking to his individual credentials and to the Paulsboro High School wrestling dynasty.

Also, back from last year are David Smith(14-16), Howard Loundsberry(13-16), Domenic Magazu(9-16), Mike Rastelli, Trevor Suter(24-9), Steve O'Leary, Nick Melis(2-1), Zach Garren(23-4), and Isaac Redman(20-4). This team returns an extremely strong nucleus and will give any team a fight. It is to early to tell, and no predictions are exact, but it is safe to say, that this team is as good as any. But will everything work out? Will there be any side-lining injuries? Will they continue to work hard? Will they unite? Will they be victorious? Only time will tell.

Good luck to the Paulsboro Wrestling team. I hope you enjoy another fun-filled season of PHS wrestling.
