Below is a post on the NJO Forum that I created answering the question, "What was the greatest come-from-behind victory?" Can you guess which match I chose before even reading the passage? I hope you like my pick.

This is my pick for the "Greatest Come-From-Behind Victory Ever." I did not pick this one because I am from Paulsboro; not because I am from District 29; not even because I am from South Jersey. If you ever get a chance to view this match, take advantage of the opportunity and watch it, and you will understand why I chose this match.

John Carrow was not what you would call a skilled wrestler. He was not strong, fast, or technical. He really was not blessed with athletic ability. But what he what he was blessed with was, a more important, extraflous amount of courage, heart, confidence, and determination.

"Out-matched," Carrow, of Paulsboro, came back to defeat Trippet, of Deptford, in overtime. At that time, overtime was three extra periods of one minute each. This rubber-match was simply incredible. So many times during the match, Carrow could have given up, could have told himself, "Ahhh, its only the district finals." But he didn't. He fought back hard and tied the score 10-10; made the match go the extra three minutes; and walked off the mat as a true, victorious, warrior.

Paulsboro has built its wrestling philosophy, or "mental curriculum," with matches similar to this one. While other youth wrestlers were brought up idlizing wrestlers such as Dan Gable and Bruce Baumgartner, I was brought up idlizing hometown heroes such as John Carrow - not for his wrestling abilities, but for his attitude and heart.
