The view from our loungeroom window in Moat Terrace, Edinburgh - Summer 2000. We're on the side of the street where the sun sets, so on warm afternoons, we like to open our window and have our dinner looking out at the sunset.

Click to enlargeAfter several days of slightly warmer weather in the first week of February, we got an unexpected gush of snowy weather. As you can see from this picture, it came down hard and fast...truly an incredible sight for me especially, having never seen snow fall before. Here we are looking left, towards the top of the street.

Click to enlargeLooking straight out of our loungeroom, still in a blizzard. On this day, the snow lasted all day and most of the night. Infact it was the beginning of a very nice snowy week. It's so cool to walk outside when the snow is falling and feel the flakes hit your face gently. They are soft and fluffy.. which was unexpected for me, as I always thought they would have the texture of small heavy balls of melted ice-cream.

Click to enlargeOut the front of our unit. We are on the top floor and have the three windows to the right of the chimney. (So yes, we have a nice lil fireplace in our loungeroom!! :)

Click to enlarge The winter view is pretty with the snow covered trees and roofs. I couldn't get enough pics of the view...it's especially nice when the sun comes out because everything is so bright. Our street is a dead end, so the roads didn't get salted. That made life a bit slippery!!

A zoom shot of the hills in the distance. Taken from our loungeroom window in February, about a week after the snow storm we had.

Click to enlargeSunset from our loungeroom window is something spectactular everytime. Our loungeroom window seems to be an everchanging canvass for the sky. This pic is taken at around 5.30pm in late February.

Click to enlargeEarly evening, and a full moon. The orange lights in the background are of Corstorphine, the suburb where we go grocery shopping. It doesn't matter what time you look out of our window, there is always a nice view.
