From The Cubmaster
Hello Pack 460,

Today we celebrate the 92nd birthday of scouting and reflect upon the accomplishments that our Scouts have achieved. I am proud to say that these scouts within Pack 460 are some of the finest boys around. We have demonstrated our teamwork by the latest event, Scouting for Food. We collected over 1200 items and had 78 boys participate. What an accomplishment!

Not to leave the parents out either, they met a challenge from our Committee Chairman during the Friends of Scouting drive and the parents put Pack 460 over the top again donating over $2700. WOW! Parents of Pack 460, I am also proud of you. Without your dedication and sacrifices to our program Pack 460 wouldn’t exist. Thanks.

Tonight we will be promoting some scouts to the next rank and rewarding our leaders for their efforts in our program. I want to personally thank every parent, scout, family member and den leader whom have made our pack the most recognized pack in the district. You all are awesome!

Congratulations to the newly promoted scouts. I will leave you with this little poem from an unknown author. I hope you enjoy it.

For Parents: A boy does what he knows. He is what he does, and what his going to be, he is becoming.
For Scouts: Life never stands still. If you do not advance, it will leave you behind. In Cub Scouting, you have many opportunities to learn and to advance as you work on achievements and electives. Do them well so that you will be proud of the badge you wear as a symbol of your keeping up with life, not as a symbol of an accomplishment left behind.

Your Cub Master, Scott George

New Pack Meeting Rules

The Pack committee and den leaders have been working very hard to make pack meetings more enjoyable for everyone. The scouts have been doing a wonderful job of participating and staying focused, however there are still some parents who continue to chat during the meetings. This makes it very difficult to hear the proceedings and also does not set a good example for our scouts. To help solve this problem, the committee has decided to begin using a “Pack Talking Box.” Parents who continue to talk throughout the meeting will be called up front and asked to draw an activity from the box that they will perform for the pack. Activities include tongue twisters, cheers, songs, etc. Please help by refraining from talking while the meeting is in progress. Thank you.

Congratulations!
