Sunderland agree fee for Reyna

Sunderland chairman Bob Murray has agreed a fee with Rangers for the United States International Claudio Reyna.

It is understood a deal in the region of just under £5 Million has been agreed for the American captain, and he will move to the Stadium of Light later this week.

As we revealed here at Northeastsoccer.co.uk last week, Peter Reid has been chasing Reyna all season, and now it seems he has got his man.

Chairman Bob Murray agreed the fee with his namesake and good friend David Murray, Rangers’ chairman, over the weekend. If things go according to plan then Reyna could make his debut this weekend.

It is understood that manager Peter Reid sees Reyna as the ideal replacement for Don Hutchinson. This is why he hasn’t moved to replace Hutchinson before now, as he has been waiting for Reyna to become available.
