Foxes finally complete Deane switch

Leicester are expected to complete the sign of Middlesbrough striker Brian Deane in time for the former Leeds man to make his debut against Everton on Saturday.

It is understood that Deane and Boro have finally agreed terms on the ending his contract at the Riverside, and the two clubs have agreed a fee in the region of £300,000 for the player’s services.

The Foxes have been chasing the big forward since manager Dave Bassett took over just under two months ago. A deal looked dead yesterday after Boro were reluctant to give Deane what he wanted. However, it seems Steve McClaren’s desperation to cut down on the wages on Teeeside, was the deciding figure.

Meanwhile Boro will take Tromso's Norway Under-21 international striker Morten Gamst Pedersen on a 10 day trail at the end of this month. As exclusively revealed at Northeastsoccerlast week, Boro have been on the trail of the forward for some time.
