Darlington have completed to signing of Newcastle defender Gary Caldwell on a month’s loan, and he will go straight into the side to face Rochdale at Feethams this evening.
The younger defender is in line for a debut start with Adam Reed and Alex Jeannin both out.
It is understood that boss Tommy Taylor swooped for Caldwell after the club’s injury problems showed no sign of improving. More than 8 first team players are out injured and Taylor decided to act fast in case the situation cost the Quakers’ more crucial points.
