Darlington have finally been successful in their attempts to sign Hartlepool winger Ian Clark, according to reports.

A deal looked dead early this week after Pools’ refused to budge on their £20,000 asking fee.

However it appears a deal has now been agreed with Hartlepool negotiating a smaller fee plus an appearance related fee on top. It is understood that Hartlepool came back to Darlington and said they would take £10,000 for Clark as well as another £5,000 on top depending on appearances.

Clark should sign today and will be unveiled this afternoon. The deal is expected to cause anger amongst the Hartlepool supporters. Clark is highly rated, but it appears the club have decided to cash in.
