Paul Ince will miss Boro’s F.A Cup semi-final with Arsenal after picking up his 10th booking of the season in the magnificent 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday.
Ince was booked after the referee decided he had dilberatley handballed a United cross outside the area, which looked very harsh.
The news is a big blow for Boro ahead of the game. Steve McClaren would have wanted his strongest team out to combat Arsenal, especially in midfield with the likes of Patrick Viera to contend with.
Meanwhile Gareth Southgate and Ugo Ehiogu’s heroics at Old Trafford have been rewarded with a call up to the England squad to face Italy at Leeds on Wednesday.
