Welcome back to Northeastsoccer.co.uk. Northeastsoccer.co.uk was first launched in the summer of 2000 by Graeme Fawell, a student at Northumbria University who ran the site by himself. From the start the site enjoyed great success. Its unusual concept of covering North East only teams made it popular with football fans all over the North East and expats who lived elsewhere.
Created by a North East fan with contributions from fellow North East fans, Northeastsoccer became essential reading for fans from Middlesbrough, Newcastle, Sunderland, Darlington and Hartlepool daily. Unfortunately, the site was a victim of its own success. After only three months the site was shutdown after Mr Fawell received a job offer from a local Newspaper.
However, today sees the return of Northeastsoccer.co.uk. Graeme Fawell has now returned to the site, alongside a team of reporters. In essence the site will be very similar to its orginal concept, although it will be far more professional. Rumours, gossip and speculation remain, together with all the breaking news. Northeastsoccer will be updated daily and as soon as it happens, you will read it here. The site has been tidied up, but remains uncomplicated and easy to use, as requested by its fans. It will deal only with stories and news.
Its news will be concentrated on the regions big five teams, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Darlington and Hartlepool. For the site to continue its success however, we need your help. Contributions from ordinary fans like yourselves would be gladly appreciated. It was something that was most popular originally. Nobody knows your team like you, so send us your comments and opinions in. We are looking for people to write columns every now and again, e-mail us here if you think you would be good at it.
Thanks for your time and remember to bookmark us now, please visit daily and check out our sponsors. Without them Northeastsoccer wouldn't be here. You will also find some great bargains in our North East football online store.
Thanks,
The Northeastsoccer.co.uk team.
