Acclaimed psychiatrist who was Taylor Hayes mentor during her college years. Dr. James Warwick resurfaced from her past to seek her professional help and clearly had romantic intesions as well. Also involved with Brooke Logan Forrester Forrester Forrester. James had been linked with Maggie Forrester, a relationship with complications because Sheila Carter had set her sights on James as well. Kissed Stephanie who intended to break up his marriage to Sheila. Taylor and James enjoyed a friendly relationship. James was considered a good listener. His desire to help his friends often placed him in jeopardy.

Unexpected mishaps on B&B

Ian:

When we shot the scenes in the dungeon, Sheila chained James to a wall. During one of the five - minute breaks, no one could find the keys to unchain me. The person who had the keys from the prop departement was in a different area of the building and couldn`t be located. So after that Kimberline kept a set of the keys on her at all times, so that if I ever needed to be unchained, I could. Actually, it fit quite nicely with Sheila`s character that she would be the one with the keys!

Ian & James Doohan (Celibrity guest)

James Doohan, who`s famous for his role as Scotty on Star Trek, guest- starred for several appearances as James` dad Damon in 1994, 1996 & 1997. Ian Buchanan felt there was an irony to James Doohan being cast as his dad on B&B. Ian explains: "When I first came to the USA as an actor, people who heard that I was from Scotland would speak to me in a thick, put- on Scotish accent and say, "Beam me up Scotty!" I`d look at them blankly and answer, I don`t know that you`re talking about. When Friends of mine who watched Star Trek found out that James Doohan was going to play my father on the show, they were very impressed and told me "You have arrived! Scotty`s playing your father!"

Dressing Ian on B&B

Lori Robinson: Ian Buchanan is so elegant and sophisticated, both as his character on the show and in real life. Ian`s terrific to dress because he`s a former model. He`s another one that you know, no matter what you put on Ian, he`s going to look great. We`ve used some very interesting Japanese designers for Ian`s wardrobe. We try to have his clothes reflect a sense of professionalism. We usually dress him in suits or sportcoats and shirts, often with no ties. If it was up to Ian, he`d wear black very day, he loves black. He also prefers neutral tones, such as beige, taupe, gray, and brown.
